Early Morning Moves

I did not get hungry once yesterday. I was extremely frustrated with the situation because I love to eat. I had a few light snacks during the day, but no meals, no real food. Sad day.

I finally had a bowl of oats before going to bed last night so I could have some energy for my speedwork this morning. As I was running around that dark track at 5am for my 1600s workout, I was having flashbacks to elementary school when my friend Caitlyn and I would set our alarms early, and sneak out of the house to run before school. (Do you remember that, Nik?) Crazy. Even as a kid, I got immense satisfaction from working out while the rest of my friends and family were fast asleep.

This morning’s workout was fabulous. It was hard to see my watch sans light, but I think my pace was about 7:45 per mile. That is fast for me, so I was excited! Hopefully that run will rev up my hunger for the day. Not eating is not fun.

As for eating breakfast, I am still feeling no tummy rumblings, so I am bringing my leftover pumpkin oat cakes to school this morning. Hunger, hunger…where are you?!

Happy Tuesday!

  1. Ugh Katie. I know that feeling and I HATE it! Ask anyone who knows me…when I have no appetite I get so mad and grumpy!

I hope it comes back soon for you!!

Ps – I like the spelling of your friend Caitlyn’s name! ;)

  2. Hurray – I’m glad you found my blog so I could find yours! Those pumpkin oat cakes sound so autumnal and look amazing!
I HATE losing my appetite – it makes you feel cheated doesn’t it?!

  4. Wow that sounds like an inspiring workout! I have a bum lower back/hip right now, but I am dying to run!
I hate losing my appetite too. We were in SF over the weekend and I planned one eating a lot more than I did. Food everywhere and I was less hungry than usual!
