Yes, I want a latte.

The end of the grading period is tomorrow, and the parents are doing everything they can to assure their students get good grades this quarter.

I got two lattes this morning.

I actually have genuinely kind and generous parents; I just thought this was funny. Along with the lattes, I had a mug of hot water (that I am perpetually holding/sipping to stay warm), and coffee from home. I had to go to the bathroom so badly by lunch time. Too much info?

Lunch was a FANTASTIC wrap.

Spicy mustard, chicken, butternut squash, and cucumbers. The squash was the star – it added a fabulous sweetness to the wrap.

I also made quick work of a Lara bar and an apple while my kiddos were ate PE.

A red delicious that was….well, delicious.

Dinner was made out of desperation and in the midst of extreme hunger. I had seen this recipe for Egg Foo Young on the Rachael Ray Show a few weeks ago, and I tried my hand at it tonight.

This was really good, and extremely easy to make. I think it took me 20 minutes from start to finish.

I used my own mix of veggies – green bell pepper, mushrooms, 2 shredded carrots, 1 tomato, and 2 ribs of celery. Other than that, I pretty much followed the recipe (without the sauce). After making this first one, I lost patience and just made an Egg Foo Young Scramble.

It was just as tasty.

I also wanted to say a big fat thank you to Lizzy for this award!! I am so excited (maybe a little TOO excited) to accept this!

So with this, I am supposed to tell you seven things that you don’t know about me yet.

  1. I am a compulsive cleaner. I need things to be spotless and organized to relax.
  2. I lived in house (not a sorority!) with NINE GIRLS my senior year of college. Can you say drama?
  3. The first race I ever ran was a marathon.
  4. I love it when my students accidentally call me “Mom”.
  5. I have 3 animals (pretty much a zoo) and am always covered in animal fur. Disgusting, I know.
  6. I cry at the drop of a hat.
  7. I want to be Audrey Hepburn.

I am also supposed to award 3 other bloggers (this was really difficult):

  1. Cait from Cait’s Plate
  2. Holly from The Healthy Everythingtarian
  3. Sarah from The FOODIE DIARIES
  4. Emily from Eatventures

I cheated and chose four. Check these ladies out. They’re good people.

One more thing…I came home and Meeker told me to come downstairs (an unfinished, creepy, stinky basement) for a surprise.

He set up my childhood playhouse!!

This had been sitting in pieces in our basement since we moved in a year ago! I screamed I was so excited. This is the coolest two-story playhouse you will ever see. It was way too dark in the basement to get some good inside shots, but maybe another time (when the sun is shining) I will capture the fabulousness of this thing. I crawled inside and had like 1000 memories running through my head about adventures that my friends and I used to have inside.

This totally made my Wednesday (oh, and the two lattes this morning weren’t terrible…).

  1. I seriously don’t remember my teachers getting so many treats from parents but maybe it was just my mom who didn’t suck up to the teachers =) Yummy food!

  2. Aw, YAY! Thaaaaank you!!! :D I’ll do mine tonight when I get home…we’re pretty much the same person so our lists will look the same anyway…

And HAHA. I AM SO COMING OVER TO PLAY IN THAT THING WITH YOU!!!

I wish I was a teacher and got brought A LATTE Lattes! ;) I’m a dork? I know, but luckily you love me anyway. Haha.

    Happy Thursday!!!

  3. Your wrap looks stunningly good! I saw that Rachel Ray episode too and was intrigued, glad you tried them with good results! How exciting to have a piece of your childhood back. Enjoy :)
