Yup, it happened. It’s a snow day.
I woke up at 5:00, looked out the window and thought… “no way” – there was hardly any snow. However, I checked anyway (hoping for a delay, at best)…and I found out the entire school district is closed. That’s wild.
I tried to go back to sleep, but was too giddy about the day, so Meeker and I got up and went for a winter wonderland walk in the wee morning hours.

While we were out…it really started snowing. The storm is here!
I know, I know…if you follow my blog, you have heard me express my disdain for cold weather on numerous occasions, but when it gets me a paid day off of work, I can’t really be upset.

Punky loves me and the snow.
To warm up…I made nice, strong coffee and a pumpkin baby-food-like breakfast.

Plus, Fig Newman’s.

- ½ cup plain yogurt
- ¼ cup pumpkin
- Heap of cinnamon (plus more for sprinkling on top)
- Maple syrup
Mix all together and throw it in the microwave for about 40 seconds. Then top with mini-chocolate chips (they melt better). Deliciousness.
Now I am off to do day 3 of the 30-Day-Shred. (Thanks for the challenge, Nat!)
I hope you are staying warm and cozy today! Enjoy the day.

You got your wish…and so did my girls! ;D I got to sleep in until 9:45!!! My day is off to an excellent start! ;D
Ugh I want a snow day in San Diego!!!! So pretty!
YEA and that is mean doing flips!! Of course I went to bed at 1130pm…woke up at 12am ish….430 and 530 b/c I kept wishing for snow day w/my kiddos! And yea it happened!! The time change from our trip had my kids in bed til 745am and they needed it! Graci was grumpy yesterday and I think she was really worn out. So this morning we made caramel rice milk dream, scrambled eggs w/leftover IHOP hot egg delight(my name) very spicy, Ezekial cheesy bread, GF cheese bread, low sodium bacon, natural sausage links for her and Kona Hazel nut coffee! oh and fruit. I can not take a pic and post for my life! But you can imagine it! Anyway see you Friday we hope. Guess the field trip will be postponed too….. I bet you get lots of Boo ween treats too!
Wow! THat is quite the breakfast spread!! I have been wanting to try that Ezekiel bread…how is it?!
Ezekial is the best bread….it last 4ever in the fridge too. Its not really soft if you like soft bread. Well wondering about school on Friday…..checked the site and no updates! Do they not think about kids who need daycare or parents who work? Thankfully we do not have that issue but it makes you ponder. We made it out to Pump It Up and sledding today! Our cousins are in town.
That breakfast sounds so good. AM I the only one that is uncreative with what they eat! jeeze..i need to jump on the exciting food train! yum!

This is like our 5th day of snow!! It’s not even halloween! Craziness.
I just got off work early and came home for a nice warm bowl of oatmeal for lunch. Snow days are great when you can stay home!
Yay! Glad you got to leave early!!
Yey you got your snow day! I would have done the same thing (except I don’t have a cute dog to frolick with). I love the first real snow and this looks like it qualifys. BTW I have washed Darin’s ipod before and two pairs of bose headphones. Whose fault do you think these mishaps are? Ours or theirs because they forgot to empty their pockets? I hope you enjoyed your day!
I find it so funny that the teachers actually hope for snow days to because when i was young/now I still think the teacher pray for there never to be a snow day but boy am I wrong. Glad you enjoyed your free day
Happy Snow Day!
We had a day off last month for the rain in Atlanta…you would have thought I was a kid for jumping up and down so much.
LUCKY! I’ve only had maybe 5 snow days in my whole life! NYC is silly…
I think they may be better as an adult than they were as a kid…
Oh my gosh, i’m watching the news and they’re actually showing CO’s insane snowfall right now! I happen to hate cold weather, but I do really love the first snowstorm.. and a snow day, of course! I’m hoping NYC stays snow-free for as long as possible haha.
