I like to eat, eat, eat, apples and bananas….
I’m pretty sure fruit cereal is climbing the charts on its way to my favorite breakfast. Just an apple and a banana this morning – with cinnamon and vanilla soy milk. Coffee in the background.
At school, I was (again) surprised by our monthly staff luncheon. Today’s menu…soup and salad!
Look at all those crock pots…
I’m sorry to admit that I was being extremely picky (very unlike me)…and I didn’t know what was in any of the soups, so I only didn’t really eat much (well, for my usually bottomless pit of an appetite).
Two salads: a broccoli slaw and a yummy spinach and berry mix. I had a bite of this soup, and realized it was incredibly cheesy (and would probably not sit well with my tum tum) and I (again, I hate admitting this) threw it out. (I also threw the crackers away – eek! – but then every time I walked into the office after lunch, I grabbed a few crackers. I probably had 15 throughout the afternoon– no joke.)
After wasting my first bowl (so sad), I tried another kind…
Chicken and dumpling…yum.
This one was a winner. I was full afterwards, so I took a small dessert square back to my room and ate it as a snack later on in the day.
I don’t know what this was…maybe a blondie? Whatever it was…it was g-o-o-d. No wasting here.
I kind of ruined my appetite with the cracker snacking, so I made a light dinner.
Sautéed Brussels sprouts, chickpeas and cashews. I poured a little apple cider vinegar on the sprouts while they were cooking and it made them so sweet and almost citrus-y. Love.
Speaking of citrus, here was my dessert…
Cuties! I actually went back for a 4th later on in the evening.
Tomorrow is Friday, the temperature is not below zero anymore, and I’m going to bed! At 8:45…it’s just one of those nights.

I love those little oranges…I can eat so many before I realize that I should probably stop and save some for other people.
I love 8:45pm bedtimes and all their glory. I no longer feel ashamed about it, more just excited when it’s happening to me! Haha.
It’s freezing here too. Not below zero (well. maybe with the wind chill factor), but I hear you. It sucks.
Your dinner looks amazing.
And hey, as long as you’re not wasting dessert you’re A-OK in my book
I get so nervous when I don’t know what people put in their recipes. I can’t digest chicken and feel guilty quizzing someone whether they used chicken broth or not. It’s best to just stay away and not draw attention to myself.
So happy it’s going to be warmer this weekend. I cheered when I saw a high of 45 for Saturday. My husband said, “You know that’s not very warm.” and I said, “Well, it’s 70 degrees hotter than it was on Tuesday morning!”
i go to be by 9 on days I have work at 5am, I have gotten used to it but at first it was hard! I sometimes took nyquil to help knock myself out, but going to be early can be so relaxing and nice! I love feeling 100% rested
happy friday my dear!
oh I hate wasting food too, I try to save something if I dont finish it even if I know I wont be eating it again, who knows maybe someone will come over who will want it!
I’m wierd about eating things if I don’t know what’s in it as well.
hahaha.. i thought, “look at all those crock pots!” when i saw that photo, and then i read what you wrote. i am the same way with food other people made!
You make me want fruit cereal soo bad. I seriously have yet to try this yet. Foodie failll.
I don’t blame you. I don’t like eating mystery prepared food either. I remember going to church potlucks and feeling like that then getting a stomach ache later. So good call.
CLEMENTINES~how i love thee!
ya know…we all waste food from time to time. it happens. no worries my love – hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
Mmm I love chicken and dumpling soup! And I have to tell you.. I totally recognize that apples and bananas song! Haha love it. Have a great weekend Miss Cake!
