The other half of my Sunday was so productive that I hardly thought about the fact that I have to start work again tomorrow.
After an extra wonderful church service, Meeker and I went to his parents to scrounge up some lunch.

My eyes were way bigger than my stomach here. I ate the salad, half the turkey sandwich and the two cuties.
Then I had a handful of almonds for dessert.

The apple went in my purse because it was freezing and I didn’t want to bite into a cold apple and kill my sensitive teeth. It will be a delicious part of my lunch tomorrow.
Many errands and chores later, it was dinnertime – and Meeker and I used one of our Christmas gift cards and went to Chili’s – where I got a surprisingly tasty black bean burger – which I again, ate half of, and saved the other half for lunch tomorrow.
Because dinner was free – I was tempted to get dessert until I remembered the plethora of goodies we had at home. We ran a few more errands after dinner, and then I came home to enjoy my own dessert sampler.
A stack of two-bite yummies.

From top to bottom: a Mexican wedding cookie, peanut butter brittle, and fudge. Each was no more than 2 bites, and it satisfied my sweet-tooth brilliantly.
Then I sipped on some tea while I finished my thank you notes …thank goodness.

This stack is only the thank you notes to my students – so, sorry family and friends, my hand is tired – you still have to wait for yours.
And now it’s time to pack up my lunch, and hit the hay. Back to reality tomorrow.
Ava is dreading the homework. I’m going to miss them both tomorrow. I love having them home on break. Back to reality tomorrow. Peh.
Your dessert sampler looks yummy!
We missed you at Chili’s…we had a freebie and two kids meals free too! I had the talapia and its so, so good! It comes with black beans/salsa/rice! Well here we go…I warmed in the crock all night Pumpkin lattes! I hope the kids enjoy them on their first day! Graci is bringing you two very dried but ‘dippable’ (is that a word) Gluten free scones. So pretend you ate and loved em!
We are grateful to have such a GREAT teacher to welcome our kiddos back to school.
I love dessert samplers.
I can’t get over all of the Thank-You cards. That would not be good for my procastination side.
Good luck back at school. I am having a hard time adjusting to reality myself after such a long break! Love that tea box, I am totally feeling tea these days since it’s a great thing to sip when you feel yourself going for more dessert! Good for you to write Thank you notes, I am impressed!
Good luck on your first day back!!

Gah! Don’t even say it! I can’t face reality after those amazing four days!
But there’s nothing like a stack of two-bite yummies to cheer ya up
Congrats on finishing the thank yous and YAY FOR ALMONDS AND AN APPLE SNACK!!
Happy Back to Reality Day!
Maybe one day we can open a bakery together and not have to work anymore!
Congrats on ALL the thank you notes! Have a FUN day back with the children. Love you mucho
congrats on the thank you cards – reality is hitting me now. i am so not motivated. hope the kids provide more inspiration than i am getting at the moment
love you!
Is there still half a sandwich left? ‘Cuz, um . . . *looks around sheepishly* . . . if no one else wants it . . .
Hope your first day back at work was great – mine was very smooth and uneventful – thank goodness! The kids are still mellow from vacation!
Dessert samplers are basically my favorite part of my day. I often will skip a snack just to indulge in a little dessert. And with desserts like vegan chocolate chips, fudge babies, and cookie dough balls.. how can you NOT indulge? I mean. Dessert was meant to be eaten.
I hope your first day back was good…I bet your kiddos were excited to see you!!
I want to jump on your stack of yummies! thank you
hope you had a great first day back to reality!
i hope you survive reality! <3
