It’s still snowing. Just wanted to let you know. Driving was a little scary, but I made it (white knuckled the whole time).
Because of indoor recess, my lunchtime was cut in half. I ate this quickly…

- 3 ribs of celery, chopped
- 2 carrots, shredded
- 1 cup black beans
- Salsa
- Hummus
- Garlic Salt
With some cottage cheese on the side

I was still pretty hungry after inhaling this, so when my kiddos were at la clase de espanol, I snagged a bagel from the lounge to squelch my hunger.

Cinnamon + raisin + bagel = love
Sometime during the afternoon, I also drank a Mix 1. It was a hungry day.

Y-u-m. I know I said this with the mango flavor, but I LOVED it. I don’t even really love blueberries, but in this drink I did. So far, so good great Mix 1.
For din-din..something that I made up on the spot: Fajita Inspired Grilled Cheese
Start with onions and peppers

And sauté them in evoo, and season with salt and pepper.
Then put them between two slices of bread, throw some cheddar cheese in, and Panini press the heck out of it.

Add a salad, and you’ve got a nice little meal!

The cheese kind of slid out the backside, but I didn’t mind.
In the 3rd grade world…
When I was in college, I used to get highly offended when people asked me my major (English and Education), and they responded with “Oh, so you’re majoring in coloring” – yeah, not so much. I actually got this response more than a couple of times. Kind of stupid.
With that being said, I do love art. I am in the midst of making a FEBRUARY BULLITEN BOARD, and I actually did get to color today, and it made me so smiley.

My kiddos are writing book reviews on paper hearts to add to this banner. I got completely LOST in my work as I laid on the floor coloring to my heart’s content. Before I knew it, it was 6:00pm!
Let’s not even talk about how ridiculously happy these sharpies make me…

I majored in “coloring” in college. For real. ;D Markers and crayons and paint and pencils make me extremely happy!
Your panini looks AMAZING!!!
I wish that I could be majoring in Coloring right now… I am majoring in Actuarial Science and these Math Classes and Science Classes are Killing me!!
I seriously gasped when I saw the Sharpie picture, I have a genuinely unhealthy obsession with them! I’m not gonna lie, we secondary majors used to make fun of the elementary kids for their “coloring curriculum,” but after hearing first week stories from the 1st grade teachers we all shut the heck up!
fajita grilled cheese = genius.
and i LOVE my sharpies. its quite an obsession.
that board is so cute!! makes me miss elementary school reading your posts!! i LOVE the looks of the sandwich too! i bet you are the best teacher EVA!
What is it with teachers and Sharpies? I LOVE them!
I really want to find those Mix proteins! Where do you get them??
Oh goodness…major panini yumminess!! That looks amazing!
I would love to get a panini press eventually.
I hope the snow clears up soon for you! We’re supposed to get some tomorrow, and I am NOT looking forward to it!
LOOK AT ALL THE SHARPIE COLORS! That definitely, definitely makes me happy!
Coloring makes me happy
My very favorite school supply is when I get a brand new giant pack of Mr. Sketch markers – they rock! and smell good too! With a new pack of Mr. Sketch I am the bulletin board queen!
Coloring is probably my favorite thing in the entire world. No joke. And I LOVE your bulletin board! It’s such a thing I would do
And boo for snow with no snow day! They can’t make you drive in that!
Also – that bagel? And that panini?? HEAVEN! They look SO good. especially that bagel!!
I’m glad you got to get something fun in your day and that you made it home safely!
Have a great Tuesday!
Love those Sharpies! I’m a total nerd for all things found in office supply stores. Give me an Office Max (or a Whole Foods for that matter) & I can’t entertain myself for hours.
Your “Books” poster looks beautiful! (They teach that in college?)
I majored in English and got “You majored in reading books?”
Yup, pretty much, as I am now a book editor.
That sandwich looks amazing! And I seem to also have an addiction to sharpies!! haha…I love them!
Seriously, I want to teach 3rd grade!
I tried my first Mix 1 this morning (mango) and I wasn’t so impressed. I mean, the flavor wasn’t too bad, protein/carb/fat combo = good, but it had 22 grams of sugar, seems like a bit much for me. I like my home made GM’s better : )
FYI..your Sharpie collection brought a smile to my face!!
i have so much respect for teachers!! so underpaid and undervalued, yet make the biggest difference in so many lives
loveeeeee paninis! delicious eats
Haha, I love coloring. I’m just not very arty. Your dinner looked faboosh!
I wasn’t even aware that Sharpie made THAT many colors!!! Between seeing that sandwich (knowing that i have to recreate it somehow without a panini press or cheddar cheese), and Sharpie’s galore; this post was like xmas morning
By the way, Ontario is finally getting some snow, but nothing like Colorado, so i hear from every single one of my family members… every day…
What a rude comment- teachers have a tough job!! Anywayyy, I LOVE sharpies so much, I am obsessed with markers!
That fajita grilled cheese looks so yummy!!!!
Coloring is such a stress relief for me
I hate when people don’t have anything nice to say. They shouldn’t say anything at all. At least you’re happy
lol I get excited by fun colored markers too dont worry!!
That grilled cheese looks amazing!! I get crap about my French major too- someone once said, “Oh so you’re majoring in slacker?” Thanks. I love coloring though…banner looks great!
I wanted to be a teacher, however it didn’t quite work out that way for me but I still LOVE everything that is “office/school supply” oriented………my favorite store is Office Depot! =O
P.S. Love the fajita sandwich, I am so trying it SOON! =)
I read the slogan as “A Third Grade-ER” at first and LOL-ed a bit. D:
I love my panini press, makes the best sammies ever!
And whoa, talk about Sharpie heaven. I would go crazy with all of those different colors.
For me, the biggest misconception about teachers is that we have summers “off” and that we get paid for it. While I’m very thankful to have some time off, I also spend a lot of that time planning for the next year, buying supplies (with my OWN money), and sometimes have to attend professional development classes. And while I do get a paycheck in the summer, I’m not actually being paid for that time off. I wish more people would understand that!!
That bagel looks so good!!
That grilled cheese is screaming my name! What a great invention.. and you teachers definitely do work hard. My two best friends are both teachers, actually (elementary and middle school).

Hi Katie!!!!!! Saw your comment on my Janetha post re the PB Vanilla balls. If you make them, drop me a comment to tell me you did, I dont get pings. Which sucks. LOL
Anyway love the colorful salad. And people who say rude stuff like that have never spent time with kids: it’s hard work! OMG teachers, I bow down to thee.
Hope that snow stops for you girl!!!
Love cottage cheese, I had some as breakfast with pumpkin yesterday!!!
U are such a good teacher!!!!!!! I bet all the kids love you to pieces!!!!
Have a great night! xo
I love hungry days sometimes- especially when they’re filled with the kind of goodness you’ve got on here!
That melty cheese looks droolicious!
