Housewife Monday

Today was perfection. Since I had the day off of school, I got laundry done, worked out, cleaned, grocery shopped, baked cookies, walked the dog. It was all fantastic.
I started the day by making pancakes for my husband.

I also nibbled on a couple while I was making the batch – but never got around to having a plate for myself.
Then I did an hour of yoga, took Punky for a nice walk, and went to the grocery store.
After yoga, I drank this to help my gumby-like muscles

This was a sample from Mix 1 – and again – I loved it. So far, I’ve really been a fan of these smoothies. Convenient and tasty – and the stats aren’t too shabby. This was mix berry, and it tasted like raspberries – yum, yum.
After grocery shopping, I was really hungry, so I came home to whip up a delightful lunch. First, I assembled a quesadilla.

Cheddar, avocado, black beans

Into a hot pan for about 2 minutes on each side, or until cheese is melty
Then, some Kale Chips!

One head of kale, washed, drizzled with 1 tbs. of evoo and sprinkled with salt – baked at 375* for 12 minutes

I dipped the quesadilla in equal parts salsa and plain yogurt.
Then I made a batch of HEAB’s oaties

Oh Lordy, why did it take me so long to find this recipe!! I could have eaten all the batter myself. I made mine with chunky peanut butter, walnuts, and chocolate chips. I die.
After my fare share of oatie sampling (and laundry folding) – I made myself a fruit snack.

Grapes and two cuties.
For dinner, I’m making tuna melt pita sandwiches.
And since I pretty much solidified my status of “cat lady” yesterday – I thought I would go ahead and unabashedly share this picture of my other cat, Bagheera (Baggy for short, because he’s so fat) sleeping on the couch.

Makes me feel all squishy.

I want to be a housewife, too!
That IS a very cute kitty picture, I love his tummy markings! Would you compare the Mix drinks to the Naked Juice Smoothies?
Funny, Kelli texted me the same thing today. I think I would totally excel at housewifery, too bad Im not a wife!
If you’re going to be bakign goodies like that, hell I want you to be a housewife, too!
So glad you enjoyed your Oaties. All your food looks delish. Pancake making, yoga, and dog walking – sounds like the perfect morning to me!
Baggy = precious.
What a perfect day! I would be fine with being a housewife too!
I would love to be a housewife, since I’m the only one currently employed I think that might be a bad decision for us right now. BUT, I think it’s a definite future possibility.
I am the total house wife too, and I am still just engaged. The oaties turned out awesome. Cute kitty!
I always think the same thing on days off as well and especially during summer break! Unfortunately, I don’t think that will happen unless I have babies…and that won’t be much of a break then, eh?
Those pancakes look tasty! Lucky Meeker!
All things in our live are designed….and it will happen. Meeker is likin’ all that good food. I am going to make kale chips soon. I made cashew nut butter today..and some other things. I would love for you to be home…I could babysit!! Really
Don’t forget us when we leave… Evoo…did you get that at Sprouts?
By the time i see any of your pics of your lunch or dinner creations, i have always already eaten and it’s too late to eat anything… This upsets me because i crave everything you bake/cook. haha. I actually attempted the flax balls today, and they were awesome! Obviously not as pretty, nor did they form the texture i was expecting from your pics, but it’s definitely my fault for adding a few things. I have a bad habit of throwing too many ingredients into one dish simply because i love them all. Bagheera is the coolest name ever. Jungle book?
I didnt know you had kitties, so how many kitties do you have?? More than 2??
just 2…THANK GOODNESS, my house is already like a zoo
aww what a cute kitty! I totally want to be a housewife I keep telling the husband he needs to start making more money so I can stay home and bake all day!
our cats are seriously twins! My cat even blocks its eyes the same way haha
Ha, ha. Your cat is way too cute!!
i adore the kitty photo! what delicious looking fluffy pancakes!
yum
First I was going to comment on how yummy your quesadilla wrap looks, then I was going to comment on the incredible cookies, and then I found myself awwwing over Baggy. Too much goodness in one post!
Awwww your kitty is adorable! Thanks for the kale chip how to…I’ve been wondering how to make them without a dehydrator!
I’m a housewife! Since we had our son in September I have been staying home….it is nice. Of course, there are definitely days when I HAVE TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE, but overall I love it.
Awwww adorable kitty!!
and I’ve decided that I want a “jobby”; meaning that I have a job but it’s really a hobby because I don’t necessarily need to work anymore. I think my ideal jobby would be to own a pottery studio or a boutique (cause then I could wear all the clothes haha)
Oh my gosh, I love that idea! I want a jobby too!
It is a wonderful profession! ;D You would be GREAT at it!
Housewife…sign me up!
My Monday sounds like your Monday! It feels so good to get caught up on… life & chores.
The cat pic totally cracked me up… how do animals sleep when they’re all smashed up and in awkward positions?!
I want to be a housewife too! except I also want someone to do my laundry for me! xo
YUM! yoga, pancakes, quesidillas, oaties…sounds like the perfect Monday to me! Loove yoga to the people! have a wonderful day
Can I be a housewife without a husband? Gretchen does it, haha. If so, I’m in. Looks like fabulous day!
I heart kitties, so show them all you want
haha, i feel squishy too from that cat! tooooo cute! i can’t say i want to be a housewife (although maybe that is because i don’t even have a boyfriend…perhaps?), but i would love to have a job working from home or having flexibility to my day. working for myself would be AWESOME.
I love days like that–always make me wish I could be a stay at home mom and be that productive everyday!
I feel that way, too, sometimes…. My house would be spotless!! lol
Your pancakes look fabulous.. so fluffy!! Your hubby is one lucky guy
Glad you enjoyed your day off.. you deserve it!
I could TOTALLY be a housewife!! I’d be very good at it!! I love having days off – it’s amazing how much I can get done!!
Love your kitty! He looks like a fatty just like mine….
