Flush the Ice

Breakfast(s)

Egg whites, spinach, salsa

Hot water and banana bread

Lunch(s)

Baby Carrots and hummus

Leftover pasta

Cabbage/broccoli slaw

Snack(s)

Dinner (just one, so far)

Yogurt Mess – plain yogurt, applesauce, walnuts, an Oatie, cinnamon squares, almond butter

I woke up with no patience today – and my students pushed me beyond my limits. Teaching 8 year olds to be kind and compassionate to each other is a tough job – especially when one goes to work feeling neither kind nor compassionate. I’m a good faker – but I came home drained. After a long phone conversation with my Daddy and a prayerful 30 minutes in a hot bath, I flushed 4 lbs. of ice down the toilet in hopes of a snow day tomorrow.

Aww, I’ll hope for a snow day for you too! Feel better! I know that children are our future, but they also kind of suck sometimes.

  2. Firstly, kudos to you for even faking it. It’s hard for me to muster up enough energy to even fake it some days. That shows you care.

Secondly, we ALL have those days. I definitely hope you get your snow but if you don’t, everything will look better tomorrow regardless. It always does.

  6. Sorry you had a rough day, only 2 more till the weekend. The carrots in hummus looks like a bouquet of health! If you ever want to meet up for a weekend reprieve, I’d be happy to :D

Well, you do have one of the toughest positions out there! It must be pretty rewarding though and i think that it’s so cool that you get up everyday to go teach/interact with an entire classroom full of kids! Kind of inspiring! And on top of all of that, your food presentation skills cannot be outmatched… I have literally had the carrot/hummus combination no less than 100 times, and it has NEVER resembled anything close to that flowery looking goodness! I am also impressed with the dinner, your bowls are so nice, where do you get all of them?

Oh, and can I just say how happy I am to see someone else drinking hot water? Haha…I’m constantly heating up water to drink when it’s freezing outside, and I always thought I was the only one who did that. ;)
