Bulky

Hello, hello! I hope your Tuesdays were fantastic! My lunch was the same as yesterday + the addition of a Morningstar burger

Still delicious. However, what was MORE delicious was the cake that Costco gave to our school today.

Yes, I want cake.

After school, I went for a nice (cold!) run with Punky, and then to the best grocery store ever for their BULK SALE. Every single bulk item was 25% off!! I kind of went wild.

I like to save all my old jars (pickles, pasta sauce, etc.) and use them for my bulk items because I hate having bags clutter up my pantry.

Nutritional yeast, oats x2, coconut granola, yogurt covered pretzels, trail mix, pepitas (in the bag), and wheatberries

I had my fair share of snacks and bites while jarring these goodies, so my hunger wasn’t full fledged come dinnertime.

More broccoli slaw with bbq sauce and spicy mustard, plus baked tofu dippers with the same sauce.

Cut and baked at 375* for about 40 minutes – flipped ½ way through. Yum, yum, yum.

And that does it! I’m hitting the sack early tonight because I stayed up late last night booking a FUN trip for my spring break which is in 2 weeks. You’ll have to wait to see where I’m off to! The countdown is ON…seven school days left!

  9. I need to give baked tofu another shot. The one time I tried, I burnt them to a crisp (in a bad way! )

  10. CAKE! Is it weird that I actually love that fake, sugary frosting on store-bought cakes? I think it’s delicious! Have a great day!

What a perfectly portioned slice of cake. Looks delicious! I have never really bought any items in bulk, I don’t know why though since my husband and I can go through a container of oatmeal in a little over a week.. perhaps I should look into that ;)

  13. What a great idea with those jars! I was just thinking yesterday how I need some nice containers to keep my oatmeal, brown rice, etc, in……duh, use old jars!

  14. The jars idea is a good one… all the bags thrown around my pantry look so disorganized and makes it tough to find things. Ahhh this is what I love about blogs!

  15. Brilliant to use old jars to store bulk stuff!I have all my bags stuffed into a giant cereal tupperware, so it’s all in one place, but still annoying. Now I need to buy some jarred items so I can have the empty jars. :)

3341. 25% Off Sales at Sprouts
    3342. Coconut Granola
… I hate the bags they give you for the bulk section at whole foods. They are 4 feet long and look so messy in my cabinet. This is a great idea and way to use up my jar collection :)

  17. Kelly says:

I do that too with bulk items…I HATE plastic bags and transfer everything to jars! Great minds think alike!!

I’ve never had cake from Costco, but sister loves it! Costco never ceases to amaze me… they always have (random) the most gorgeous flower arrangements!

25 % off!! score! I love your old jars…that’s a great way to store things, takes up less space, and just looks better. Although, I’m pretty sure I’d eat all of those yogurt pretzels if they were in plain sight like that.

  21. Holly says:

I save ALL my old glass jars, I just use them for when I make hummus and other sauces and such. That is SUCH a good idea, my cupboard is a disaster area!
