List

I like lists, so here is a list of the fantastic things about my day. No surprise that most of them are food.

1. Green Purple Monster

Banana, blueberries, spinach, protein powder, almond milk, peanut butter, chia seeds, 2 clementines, water

    2. Leftovers for lunch

    Baked tofu and broccoli slaw

    3. Snacks that involve peanut butter and coconut

½ cup plain yogurt, 1 spoonful peanut butter, coconut granola

    4. Exercise. I started to take Punky for a walk, but it felt so dang good to be alive and outside that I ended up         running sprints on a nearby field in the dark. It felt phenomenal. It was snowy and blowy, which leads me to #5

    5. This hat

    6. Roasted Veggie Dinner. This one wins as THE favorite. Hands down.

Sweet potatoes, zucchini, red onion, eggplant. Topped with a yogurt/spicy mustard/bbq sauce mix and walnuts and pepitas.

    7. Cookies. I haven’t had one yet, but I’m sure it will make the list in about 5 minutes.

I made these cookies last night, but substituted the chocolate chips for chopped up chocolate truffles.

    8. Straight from the 3rd grade world…puzzles!

The teamwork with which my kiddos have been working on this puzzle all week makes my heart smile.

    1. 1- Purple is my favorite color. Therefor that shake ROCKS!
2- I hope the field was somewhat lit! I have done the same thing at the smoky hill track when i was at my dads and ended up coming home with some cuts and scrapes… I am an idiot though.
3- That roasted veggie dinner looks exquisite… Never have i ever thought to put pepitas on my roasted veggies, that combo sounds phenomenal… I will try this tomorrow.
4- Puzzles are the best for rainy/stormy nights when all you feel like doing is relaxin! Fun fact: My mother has a huggge collection of puzzles, like we are talking more than 50.

    2. I’m a list person, too. Sometimes I like to write things on the list I’ve already done- so I can cross them off. I think it may be considered a sickness at this point… ;)

Chocolate truffle cookies? That is amazingness in a cookie!!!!

    3. That purple monster has to be better than the green ones, if only because it’s PURPLE! Puzzles are fun! I bet the boys weren’t too thrilled it was a Mini Mouse one though….Ha!

    4. Your list would sound perfect for my life.
And I loved puzzles! I still do, but they’re harder to find good ones and time for(also, not much space for a 500 piece puzzle in a dorm room)

    5. I love lists! I’m kind of addicted to them. Anybody wanna have an intervention?? Yeah, it probably wouldn’t work anyway… ;) Random question, but do you ever find yourself using food in a lot of your teaching? For example if I write a word problem on the board it almost always involves cookies or pizza… and when I use spelling words in sentences it usually goes something like this, “Find. Please help me find the nearest muffin. Find.” I have to actually TRY not to use food in my teaching. So hard for me… ;)

      • Ahh! I am so with you!! Mine always involve “going to the grocery store” – it’s so bizzare. Whenever I open my mouth, out pops a word problem or a spelling sentence about someone going to the grocery store for more food. Too funny, I’m glad I’m not alone.

    6. I’m obsessed with making lists. And then remaking the list I just wrote. And repeat, repeat, repeat haha! So excited the hat made your list and that you are getting so much use out of it!!!
