How many different hats do you wear during the day?
Sometimes I feel like my life is a giant juggling act. I know everyone experiences this, but today just seemed like a whirlwind. Not bad by any means. Just busy!

In the 3rd grade world…

Apparently, my frazzled attitude today was evident in my appearance. My hair in this drawing says it all.

  1. Whew!! Loved the drawing…. kids have a sense of what’s going on :) Hope tomorrow is fun but more relaxing and peaceful.

  2. Katie…It looks like you were originally going to be wearing a ball gown in the drawing, and somehow you had a wardrobe change by the artist :-) ! It is just too cute!

  3. You of all people certainly need 28 hours in a day. I think it is out-of-this-world that you take on that many roles during the day and still find time for a great social life and crazy athletic endeavors… haha. As soon as i hear of any local Colorado teacher nomination program going on, just know that you will be in it! :) Carrots and coconut butter on a tortilla? Where do you come up with this stuff, that sounds so amazing, and a very crunchy/satisfying combo at that! I have never tried it and plan on it when i find coconut butter. I am still after that elusive Walnut Butter as well… I haven’t made it back home yet because of my class schedule, but i will be heading down that way this week. Is there anywhere around Denver that you know of that sells Artisana? What about Sprouts? Or how about i send you a HUGE batch of my hemp/pumpkin granola for a little jar of walnut butter… good deal? ;)

  4. Katie!!!
Your day sounds almost exactly the same as mine!!! I love the play-by-play haha especially “I hate exercise” “I LOVE EXERCISE!!!!!!” that sums up my attitude at 4:30 in the morning, as well :)
Teachers wear so many different hats…yesterday I think I think my counselor and and doctor hats were on more than my teacher hat ;)
Hope you have a great day today!!!!

  5. That is a seriously jam-packed day! I honestly wish I could wake up that early to exercise, but just getting up at 6:30 is hard enough. Perhaps I should stop going to be at 11:30 though….hmm.

I used to wear many hats, but I’m doing some spring cleaning, if you will. Now, I’m the blogging, running, freelance writing, therapist and student. Oh, and I suppose wife, chef and maid probably fall in there someplace too ;-)

  6. Love it! We all juggle our daily activities…glad to know I’m not the only one! I’m a stay at home mom, and although I’m not “techinally” working outsife of the home at the moment, I still feel like just trying to bring my son up the “right way” is hard somedays! I give props to the teachers!

  7. love a day in the life of YOU!!!

thats so great that you and your friends get together for a dinner!! I wish I lived closer ot my best friends from HS…theyre in NYC and im in Boston :(

    that pic is too cute!!

  8. Hahahaha – I love that picture. I think your hair looks rockin’ ;) Is that an apple you’re holding?

I don’t feel like I wear enough hats during the day – sometimes I wish I wore more. I know it’s stressful, but I almost prefer being really busy to not.

I love that breakfast and that burrito.

I hope today is a little less hectic :)

  9. Your day is an inspiration.

I’m kind of having the same kind of day lately……..finals.

I love that you go to bed early. I too want to go to bed at 8:30, but usually it’s 10:00 these days. What about these people that stay up and watch the late show. I can’t do that.

  10. oh girl, you’re my hero! exercising when you’re all sorts of busy. you just go to show i have NOOOO excuse on skipping out. i’m a fool.

ps, i’m all about 28 hours in a day if you want me to sign the petition to the big guy upstairs….

  11. I definitely think wearing many hats is part of being a teacher…and a modern woman! But you do wear an exceptional amount and reading your timeline made me really tired!

My favorite part was the transition from “I hate working out” to “I LOVE EXERCISE!” I feel that way every single day when I drive to the gym…

  12. What a day! Isn’t it crazy how many different roles we play each day in the classroom? It’s absolutely exhausting some days! I also love that you referred to the fact that you inhaled lunch…we always joke at work about how the teacher’s lounge is silent for the first five minutes of our lunch break because everyone is busy shoveling food in their mouths in order to get back to everything else that needs to be done!

  13. 24 hours is definitely not enough. Or we could just shorten the work day. If the work day was 6 hours instead of 8 or 9, imagine how much we could accomplish. I think I’m onto something here.

  14. bahaha…your hair in that pic!!! love it.

ok as for the hours you put in…man, you deserve a medal. my best friend is a teacher here in nyc, and we swap stories all the time. the people we put up with, the crap that we do (that is COMPLETELY unrelated to our actual job) – i mean, its crazy.
    i am a nurse/physical therapist/secretary/hospital manager/admitting personnel/HR rep/tv services/kitchen staff/resident patient and hospital bitch…thats what i should write on my resume.
ass wiping i can do, thats in my job description, but use my own cell phone to call the TV services people in jersey about your broken remote control? no thanks, im not your servant.
