Auntie Camp Part I

It’s raining, it’s pouring…

Go figure that the weekend I am keeping my brother’s 3 kids it POURS the entire time. We did get a nice long romp in the park yesterday, but had to sprint home in the rain. It hasn’t stopped. I had my heart set on going to the pool today. I whined at Meeker this morning as he was leaving for work at 5am…

“What are we going to do!? I want to go to the pool!”

He calmly replied “You’re a teacher, I’m sure you’ll figure something out”

Oh yeah, I work with kids as a profession. I tend to forget during summer that I can’t whine like a 5 year old, I have to be in charge of the 5 year old. And the 7 year old, and the 1 year old. Speaking of which…

The 5 year old – Ellie

The 7 year old – Sydney

The 1 (almost 2!) year old – Easton

We made pizzas yesterday; it was floury, messy, yummy fun.

Trying out the (vegan) dough…

We also tried some baby bell peppers to see if they would go well on the pizza.

The kiddos took these pictures…

The verdict: kind of good…but a no go for the personal pizzas.

All three passed on the veggie options (spinach, peppers, broccoli) and went for the plain old cheese and turkey pepperoni. A classic.

Yum.

Almond milk is good, too.

For the grown-ups.

I had a slice, and then we played in the rain…

Giggles.

Right now, everyone is still sleeeeping, but I’m sure it will get lively in a few minutes. I’m thinking pancakes for breakfast…I’ll be back with some rainy day updates!

  1. Toooo fun!!! Great photos….. You’ll be getting even more creative on this rainy cool Saturday. Have a great time!

    We love you guys..

  2. Girl you certainly have your hands full. I used to be a dance teacher to kids ages 3 and up and I always took the Summer off just as the kids did with school. But it was funny how when I would baby-sit some of my friends kids and completely blank for a minute on what to do with them. I kept thinking, teach them ballet, oh wait, it’s the Summer, there are other things we can do besides learn how to dance. haha

  3. Oh no! Bummer about the rain but I am definitely sure that you will think of something. You are the most creative person I know in your classroom! :)

  4. Ooh making homemade pizzas is a great thing to do on a rainy day. I am impressed that they went for the vegan dough, it must have been really tasty! Cute kids too :)

  5. Hey,
gosh those kids are adorable and I bet you’re a fun aunt to be around.
You’ll find something to entertain them with I’m sure. How about some fun activities where y’all can move around or maybe an indoor pool??
I’m looking forward to seeing more pictures of your fun activities!
