You guys really know your stuff. I don’t know why snacks throw up such a creativity roadblock for me, but your suggestions helped me push right through and come up with some mid-day yummies. Muchas gracias. I’m also thrilled to know that I’m not alone in my Dairy Queen love.
Sunday Breakfast

Coffee and chia seed pudding – yum diddy.
I had second breakfast after church at Mimi’s Café, but forgot my camera. I had potatoes and an avocado/bacon omelet. It was pretty darn tasty. For snack – per your suggestions – I made a delicious smoothie.

Frozen strawberries, 1 scoop protein powder, ½ cup almond milk, ½ cup water, ¼ cup flaked coconut, ½ frozen banana
Sunday Dinner

Junk Salad – lettuce, broccoli slaw, a few crumbled chips, a few leftover potatoes from breakfast, hummus + bbq sauce dressing
Sunday Dessert – inspired by many of your snack suggestions of apples/nut butter

Dried apples and walnuts
Oh my goodness, you guys. This snack was outstanding. Something about the textures here made me swoon. I was mmmming and ahhhing while I ate this whole bowl. You must try it. Must, must, must.
Then, while I was watching my favorite Sunday TV Show – The Next Food Network Star – a dream of mine came true…

My animals snuggled with me at the exact same time! Punky and Bagheera, friends at last. It only took 1.5 years.

Eeee! Look at Punky’s paw on Bagheer’s back (or butt). I’m so excited.
If you have multiple pets, do they get along?

I love tossing “the fridge” in a bowl to make a delicious salad…your looks great!
I have had many a cats that have taken a long time to be friendly with each other. They would always fight when we were around, but sometimes, when I would sneak into the house, I would catch them snuggled up and sleeping together. What’s up with that. It’s all an act or something! Ha!
I don’t have any pets…but I beg my hubby for a dog every day.
Ha, ha. Your pet pics just made my day. Your cat is SO huge and adorable!!
Love big cats! And the smoothie looks amazing!
Ahh, double loving from the animals! So cute
And also, I LOOOOVE the next food network star!!!! I love Tom and Aarti (sp?).
Looks like your pupper is trying to cop a feel on your cat
And I agree, excellent snackage. What brand are those apple chips?
Ive had more than one dog before, and I wanted so badly for them to besties! It would have been cute! But they usually just stayed away from eachother.
If I could have forced them to be friends, I so would have though!

Aw yay!! Mike’s dogs always lay with their paws wrapped around each other and it’s SO adorable.
Also? I want everything in this post! Your meals always make me so hungry and jealous!
I LOVED your ice cream for dinner post last night. I agree, sometimes there’s just nothing better than a drive, some talking and some ice cream for dinner
I’m glad summer is still treating you so well friend!
HAPPY MONDAY! (not that there are any real days during summer!)
Aw, there is nothing cuter than when a dog and a cat get along and cuddle together! My dog Harry (he’s passed now) thought he was a cat so my cats would cuddle up to him like he was their mom. It was hilarious and adorable.
How adorable! Love the pics……
We only have one dog but I am begging (um literally) Keith to get another doggie! But in Keith’s defense, he thinks that because Kodi (our dog) is so old it would be unfair to introduce a puppy into his life now. Which I DO understand. Kodi is 15, has really bad atheritis and also has doggie alzheimers. So it is hard sometimes….
My two dogs generally get along – they are sisters
But sometimes they get into little scraps. It’s actually pretty funny to watch because they bark and claw at each other for 10 seconds and then are snuggling on the couch again immediately after.
OMG…your weekend looks simply fantastic! from the DQ blizzards for dinner (i’ve been known to do that as well) to just driving (another favorite of mine – perhaps the ONLY time i like driving) to all those salads, snacks and everything. serious perfection.
p.s. i LOVED the story of how meeker got his nickname.
let’s catch up soon – lots of love to you lady!!!
Awww those pictures are too cute!! My old dog and old cat were BFFs, because the cat knew he had the upper hand and was like, oh, I guess I’ll put up with you, you slobbery mess. My three remaining cats don’t really get along though, which makes me sad. I’d love to cuddle with them all while watching TV! Hope you’re having a great Monday so far!
Awww, so sweet!!
We have two dogs and they love each other, but they get very jealous easily. They growl at each other when bones are given out and they won’t snuggle with us at the same time, but they will snuggle with each other. It is so sweet!
ah! i love the cuddle session! that is awesome. my dogs love each other
How sweet! My dog and cat have a love/hate relationship. Sometimes they are best friends and sometimes they chase each other in circles!
ahh you make me want a dog again!! My parents just cant bring themselves to replace my doggy that passed in 2008 just yet! I know the time will come! I still have yet to make chia pudding!!
This grey cat is so beautiful. I ll try your smoothie tonight.
Thanks for your comment! My kitty will be so flattered that you think he’s beautiful…I’ll be sure to pass it along to him.
