I’m back from Mexico! We went to Playa del Carmen with Meeker’s family and some family friends of theirs. The trip was short, but refreshing, relaxing, and rejuvenating (RRR).

When I wasn’t swimming (which was often because the water was the PERFECT temperature), I was sunning/reading…
Or jumping off of things…
Or snorkeling in caves…
Or just moseying around on the beach with the scuzzband.
We also did a lot of walking.
It was a gorgeous ½ mile walk from our room to the beach.
Along the way we saw wildlife galore! Peacocks…
Flamingos…
And these guys…
The first time we saw one of these things Meeker said: Oh look, it’s…a mammal! We really have no idea what they were, but they kind of looked like lemurs with anteater noses. Anyone know?!
Oh, this is a food blog? Okay, here is what I ate…
I had about 100 plates just like this. Pineapple, beets, peppers, carrots, cucumbers…mmm fresh.
I ate a lot of mango and refried beans, too.
Standard Mexican fare.
There were often LaraBars on the beach.
And airport snacks along the way. (Also, I’ve changed my name to “Kayle”)
I am fortunate to have such generous in-laws that let us tag along on their vacation. I feel recharged and ready to soak up the last couple weeks of my summer! I’ll be back tomorrow morning with a giveaway winner (it’s not too late to enter!) and a push-up challenge update.

Looks like fun. We’ve talked about going to Playa del Carmen for an upcoming vacation (as in next year). We went to Cancun last year and while it was nice, it was a little too college frat boyish. Umm, no offense to any college frat boys.

Mexico looks amazing! My brother and SIL just got a timeshare in Cancun so I’m hoping to go down with them eventually.
The few pictures from your resort (hotel?) look almost exactly like the place my husband and I stayed at in Playa del Carmen 5 years ago….takes me back.

Is that a kudamundi? There is a person in W-S who has a similar looking animal and they walk it on a leash. LOL

Wow you looked like you had the best time! This makes me want to go on vacation so bad. My husband and I took a cruise with his family to Mexico the first week in May, and I feel like it was forever ago. It’s about time for a second vacation.

The hotel looks amazing too! I love hotels/resorts where you have to walk places, but you still feel like you’re at home, walking around barefoot or in a bikini. Aahh, vacation.
