I ate a lot of vegetables today, and my stomach couldn’t have been happier about it.
Breakfast

Green monster: ½ banana, ½ cup blueberries, ½ cup vanilla soy milk, 2 cups water, 1 cup frozen spinach
Lunch

Green peppers + carrots + hummus, 1 nectarine, roasted potatoes with garlic salt
Snack

Nuts and seeds
Dinner

Grilled broccoli and eggplant

With hummus and a sprinkle of nutritional yeast
Dessert

It deserves two pictures.

½ cup oat bran cooked in 1 ½ cups water, ½ cup vanilla soy milk. At the end of the cooking, I threw in half a square of dark chocolate. Then I topped it with the other ½ of the square of chocolate, and 1 tbs. ooey gooey melty peanut butter.
Dessert was hands down the best thing I ate all day. Hands down.
In the 3rd grade world…

My class was playing “the silent game” this afternoon during carpool, and in the midst of dead silence, a little boy urgently raised his hand and said:
Mrs. Unger, I have to pass gas! What should I do?! Does that count as talking?!
I assured him he would still be “in the game” if he just stepped out into the hallway until it passed, but on the way to the door – it slipped out. And it was LOUD. The best part of the situation was that the little boy didn’t even consider the fact that he should have been embarrassed, he just fell onto the floor into a fit of giggles.
Kids are so honest and unashamed! I wish I could be as uninhibited as I was as a kid, but I guess we grow old and grow a conscience!
