I feel like I’m getting back into the swing of things. Back on track with the old routine.
Wake-up, work-out, shower, eat breakfast.

I tried to put the broccoli slaw inside the omelet, but there was too much, so I ate egg with broccoli slaw on top.
Drive to school, make coffee, teach, teach, teach, recess duty, lunch

Leftover sweet potato fritter + beans
Teach, teach, teach, plan, teach, carpool, snack

Plan, prep, grade, drive home, get comfy, more snack

Sit down (ahhhh), check email, cook dinner, enjoy dinner

Brown rice, celery, red peppers, white beans, onion, garlic, veggie broth, thyme, red pepper flakes, salt
In the 3rd grade world…
Remember picture day? It was today.

The picture company provides each kiddo with a little black comb so that they can drive their teacher crazy as they use it like a banjo and/or fix their hair allll day long look pretty for their pictures. I remember loving those little black combs as a kid, and always vowed to “save them” forever, but I think I usually lost it before the day was out. Working with kids always reminds me that it’s the small things in life…picture day, black combs, and birthday cake (or cookies).

I’m starting to learn my routine for this school year. My biggest challenge is lunch at 10:42!!!! In the summer, sometimes that’s when I eat breakfast!!!!!
That SP fritter looks delicious!!
Eeek 10:42!!! that’s so early!! Mine is at 11:20, and I think that’s early!
i think i might still have some nightmares about that carpool business of yours…. hopefully it is going as smoothly as possible, for whatever that means
Ugh! You’re one of those people that takes good driver’s licence/name tag/yearbook photos, aren’t you? I am not one of those people Ha!
hahaha I remember those combs. Oh the good ol’ days!
Really good picture of you! You seem very organized/routine. Love how people can plan meals so perfect, I suck at it!
hahahah I looove picture day! Your picture rocks! I have a little boy in my class who people have told me he wears a full tux the day of! awesome.
Oh my goodness, that’s the cutest thing ever! Our kiddos wear uniforms, so there is no creativity like that!
I NEED to make that fritter- holy moly, looks great!
I have to say, I always fall into routines as well, and I sort of like that for work.. but on the weekends, I HATE routine. I want to be free to do whatever I want.
ps. I didn’t comment to your previous post, but food = my love language as well, for sure!

Your picture looks great! I loved reading your routine, it totally gave me flashbacks (in a good way!). On day during PTC I realized that I stood from 7:45am-9pm, straight!
Aw, cute picture! And that’s so sweet- thanks for reminding us to appreciate the small things in life!
Oh I hated picture day! I always wanted to get the fun colorful backgrounds and my mom would never let me!
You are so cute. I love your picture.
My boys always seem to end up getting their shirts dirty on picture day. It’s a gift, I guess…
That’s a great pic of you. I remember those little black combs too. They seemed so special at the time.
Kids really do teach us to enjoy the small things.
I was an assistant teacher for a year, and I remember those combs. The boys always used them as a make-shift moustache.
Picture day!! I totally forgot about that. Haha, I used to get so intense about my outfit on picture day, even though it’s only from the neck down…
I hated picture day, I was always so self conscious. Sad thinking back on it. I like your picture though! And your broccoli slaw omelet!
laney lost hers by the time we got home. There were tears. It IS the small things.
haha omg picture day brings me so back to those days!! the outfit was always picked out and my mom took a whollle bunch of pics before i even went to school! loved it
Thats a really good picture of you!
I remember picture day. It was always so exciting – you got a break from class and everything!

Um everything on all your posts looks so yummy. I want to hire all you amazingly CREATIVE bloggers to cook for me a week out of the year. Can I arrange that? I’m soooo boring with my food- and then I read a blog and now- like a dork, I TAKE NOTES so I can remember to go home and try something new!! haha
and yes, it IS the small things in life that make it grand.
