More of the same routine today. I’m not complaining – I like to have a regimented schedule. After my workout, I had a small breakfast.

Well, it looked small, but there were a lot of calories packed into this ½ cup of mush.

1 banana, 1 tbs. peanut butter, 1 date and this on top…

It held me over about the same amount of time as all of my breakfasts. 3 hours. That means that I’ve been starving for an hour by the time lunch rolls around.

Sweet potato with chili – this tasted so good today! I wanted 10 times this amount. I also had a teensy tiny side salad.

Broccoli slaw with hummus + water – I should have packed more, ’twas delish.
When I came home, I snacked on some carrots/hummus while I whipped up a chicken stir fry for dinner.

Red cabbage, mushrooms, chicken, ginger, garlic, salt, and lime juice squeezed on top
And now I’m off to enjoy some of these babies:

I saw Katie post about her new raw snickerdoodle cookies this afternoon, and I thought about them all day long!
* 30 grams unsalted, raw almonds
* 80 grams dates
* pinch of salt
* very scant 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
* 1 tsp. cinnamon
* pinch cream of tarter
Blend in your food processor. Smush into balls and enjoy!
In the 3rd grade world…
I had a little girl pee her pants while sitting in her chair today. The awful part is that she sat in it for almost an hour (!!) before she stood up and I noticed the wet pants. When I asked her about it, and suggested we call her mom to bring her some fresh clothes she just shrugged and said:
Nah, that’s okay.
I then rephrased my suggestion and told her she had to go call her mom for new clothes. My only guess is that she was so riddled with embarrassment that she didn’t want anyone else to know. Poor girl.

Aw that poor little thing!
I had the same thing happen with a little girl in my class all the time last year… but it wasn’t pee… if you get my drift…
Aww poor girl! i’m sure if she had a raw snickerdoodle cookie it would make her feel better
your sweet potato and chili combo looks delish–the weather’s been getting cooler here and its making me start to crave my favorite Fall treats!
Wow, you’re lightening fast! Your snickerdoodle babies look so darn cute. And brekkie looks good too… but then again, what doesn’t look good when covered in DCD?
The raw snickerdoodle ingredient list reminds me of a Larabar! Delicious looking.
aww thats so sad
i love that calorie dense brekfast! that DCD is pure crack!
oh no! poor dear!
oh u made the snicker doodles!!! when i saw them on katie’s blog my mouth dropped but i did the same thing right now looking at yours!!! these are perfect to have around for snackage
mm again, ur chili and sweet potato combo is irresistable! <3
ps. I WAS TOTALLY THAT GIRL! oh my.. bad bad memories… *blush*
I have a memory of a similar experience…I was in Gr.4 though, so it was even more embarrassing. I was in gym class and I really had to go pee. I kept putting up my hand and my teacher kept ignoring me. Finally I asked him out loud as he was not responding to my hand raising and he said I was not allowed to go at that time. I had so go so bad that I peed my pants…worst of all is that is was basically in front of the whole class. Mortifying!
I love the “In the third grade world” part of your blog. I should do something like that about my seventh graders when school starts up!
Thanks for your comment! I would love to read some 7th grade world stories…I’m sure you have some really good ones!
Ah man i feel so bad for that little girl.
PS, since you meet EVERY single one of your fitness goals and power through them like a champ, i vote you go for chin-ups next! I will partner up with you on some sort of challenge to other bloggers and you can knock out 15 or 20 in a few weeks i bet! (if you aren’t already) You seem to inspire others to improve their fitness and i think that is awesome
Keep doin’ what your doin’ dude!
Aw…that poor girl.
It’s so not easy being small sometimes.
Your chili and sweet potato combo looks delicious!
Aw, the same thing happened to a friend of mine when I was little.
Sweet potato and chili? Sounds so good right now! (Yes, it’s breakfast time here…)
That dark chocolate dreams looks delicious. I’ve always wondered about broccoli slaw, but never tried it because of the calories. Blending it with humus sounds great though.
Are you worried about the calories being to low? Mine is only 20 calories per cup! You can bulk it up and use it in a million different recipes…it’s one of my favorite “go-to” foods.
poor girl!
I remember once I realllly had to go to the bathroom (#2) in preschool, but it was naptime and I was afraid to get up bc I was supposed to be asleep. Finally, I asked the teacher and ran to the bathroom. Well, it was too late. I went in my pants on the way there. I was so embarassed, so I took my panties off and left them behind the toilet and went commando the rest of the day.
And then I was so scared to tell my mom why I came home with no panties! haha
i am lucky to never have been one of the kids who wet my pants in grade school. i always felt so bad for the ones who did! your mashup of breakfast looks tasty.
That poor girl!
I need to make broccoli slaw. It looks SO good!
awhhh! at least you helped <3 wow your breakfast looks amazing! such a yummy combo of flavors! cant go wrong with sweet potatoes! there amazing with anything! loving the broccoli/cabbage slaw, ive gotta try it! have a great night <3

I hate to admit, but a similar thing happened to me in Kindergarden. The only difference was I didn’t sit in it for an hour and I desperately wanted to change!
awwwwwwww…so sad
when i was little (but old enough to not wet the bed) i dreamed that i was peeing on the toilet and i peed in my sleep. yikes!
i need those delicious little balls now.
Just so you know, I went to Costco this weekend just to buy dates and almonds to make these balls.
How long do they last? Should I refrigerate the leftovers (assuming there are any)?
That is so sad about the girl peeing her pants! When I was in first grade, I had an accident during reading time (we were all sitting on the floor) and Mrs. Reynolds yelled at me in front of the whole class. I still have nightmares about it.
Awww, poor thing! I had a Mrs. Reynolds teacher too, but mine was in 5th.
I put half of mine in the fridge and they got a little dry – I don’t know if they would have gotten dry out of the fridge though…sorry, no tips! Let me know how they turn out!
