Red Rocks Race

This morning, despite the cold temps and the forecast for rain, I bundled up and headed to meet some of my co-workers for a race at Red Rocks!

Kind of insanely gorgeous, right? – And no rain clouds in sight. Yet…

I’m in the back (on the right) because I’m tall.

I walked the 5k with my co-workers, and took my camera so I could snap pictures along the way.

Meeker called around mile 2 to tell me about a killer sandwich he had just made…

(Thanks for the picture, Beth!)

Around mile 3, the rain clouds started to roll in, which was actually welcome because it was straight up a hill, and I was getting a little toasty.

That ramp that goes to the left was the last .2 mile – I got antsy to be finished, and ran the last part (including about 200 feet of stairs leading up to the finish line)

The race ended at the top of the Red Rocks Amphitheater (you know, the famous concert venue) – there is a fitness class that meets there on Saturdays, and all those people on stage were doing pilates type moves – then they ran the steps up the stadium – it was pretty cool to watch.

Check out all the red delicious apples in my swag bag – score for the week!

It was such a fun race, and I’m glad I got up and went! Hope you all are having fantastically relaxing Sundays!

  1. what? i had no idea you were that tall! i love finding things like that out about bloggers. i am short stuff. loved the photos and the scenery! those lucky apples.. they have no idea that they are about to be bundled up in your little apple sweater. :)

  2. I bet you know what I like best about this post! Apples!
Sometimes its embarrassing. I can chow down 3-4 apples a day.
    Usually only two!
Seems most food bloggers have such variety ,I do have variety, but the apples never seem to let me go! I swear!
