Sunny Monday

I loved this day. I had time to do things around the house and plan for Thanksgiving – which is what I’ve wanted to do for weeks.

After my workout and a shower this morning, I sat at the kitchen table for almost 2 hours browsing recipes and making a grocery list. The sun was shining on my back, I had a cup of hot tea in my hands, and I was relaxed.

Punky sat faithfully by my side.

Skinny little pup. I think she looks more like a scrawny wolf/coyote than a dog sometimes.

Some things I ate while enjoying my Monday…

Shredded wheat with frozen berries and soy milk

Slaw with this dressing

A cup of chips with black beans

Carrots and celery

Cinnamon raisin toast with peanut butter inside

Aside from breakfast, I never really sat down to a meal today – I just grazed. Which is the way my belly likes it.

And now I’m ready for some couch time – I know I’m about 6 years late, but I just discovered the show 24 on instant Netflix. It is addicting. And there are 7 seasons. Yikes.

Are you a snacker or a sit-down-meal eater?

  1. Oh no! It is addicting! A few years ago my parents and I spent one summer break in the living room watching back to back 24, leaving only to make trips to Blockbuster for the next disc!

And I am totally a snacker. I just much and munch all day long!

  2. Don’t feel bad, I only discovered 24 on netflix a few months ago and I’m just starting season 4. For a show that’s so addicting, I’m kind of glad I can watch them all at once instead of waiting a week to find out what happens next!

I’m more of a sit down to meal person, otherwise I tend to over eat. :)

  3. For me it depends on my mood. If I am feeling busy and overwhelmed I’ll probably just snack but if I’m regular or trying to kill time I’ll sit down and enjoy my food! ;-)

  4. Oh my gosh, Punky is sooo cute! My friend had a German Shepard when she gave birth to all three of her girls and that dog was the most protective thing ever! When they were infants and would lay on the floor, the dog would curl up by them as their protector. :)

  5. I’m a grazer by nature but prefer three square meals with snacks in between if I need them. When I graze, I just keep grazing and grazing even when I’m not hungry – which means mindless eating that leads to the dreaded tight pants syndrome. No bueno.

I’m glad you had a slow-paced, easy-going relaxing Monday. And I hope this week is fill with more days just like it.

    Ciao! Dana

  6. I love the sense of serenity you seem to have attained. =)

Speaking of Netflix instant play, very dangerous for us. We are extra careful to avoid finding any new shows during the semester because we know that if we do, we have an incredibly hard time not saying “just one more?” after the past 3 one-more’s! However, I do highly recommend “Rescue Me” if you haven’t already seen it. As well as our FAVORITE….”Californication” We love that show! Absolutely hilarious and exciting and sweet. It might not be your taste, but it is worth a try! =)

  7. It just depends on the day, If im busy, Ill graze but I like sitting down to meals. I have discovered Nurse Jackie via netflix and now need to go to group therapy meetings because of it!

  8. im so in love with punky. im sure ive told you this many a time, but we had a german shepherd growing up and my parents just got another one recently. love em. so so cute.
