Snow day, snow day, snowww daaaay!!
When my alarm went off this morning, I rolled over, asked Meeker for his iphone, and went directly to my school district’s website to check for closures. I wasn’t expecting it, just hoping, and HOORAY, all schools in the district were closed for the day! So I rolled over and went back to sleep for two hours.
There’s really no better feeling.
When I did get out of bed, I made myself some oatmeal.

½ cup oats cooked in water, almond butter, chia seeds, Love Grown granola, and…

The magic ingredient. I got this stuff from my parents for my birthday and it is gooood.
Then I spent four hours cleaning my house. I was so happy to have the time to scrub floors, put away laundry, and clean out closets. It was the perfect snowy day activity.
Then I sat down to lunch in my nice, neat casa.

Broccoli, rice, tofu and teriyaki sauce
Then I plopped down on the couch and watched Mr. Bauer do his thing for a while – a cup of tea by my side.

(Oh, and I didn’t get out of my pajamas all day. Even while I worked out in my living room.)
Fruit Snacks…

X2

And for dinner – while my studly Meeker was shoveling our driveway – I whipped up a pot of chili.
I started with a salad.

Lettuce, cucumbers, celery, carrots
And then on to the chili.

(Yup, same bowl. Didn’t even rinse it out.)
To make the chili: ground turkey, black beans, pinto beans, 1 garlic clove, 2 cans tomatoes, 2 cans tomato sauce, ½ onion, green bell pepper, 2 cups water, chili powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes – cooked on low heat for two hours.
I think every weekend should be three days long…I feel so much more relaxed and ready to face the work week tomorrow!
Is it snowy where you are?
What’s your favorite stay-in-the-house activity?

We are getting the stom you had tonight!! For some reason, I always thought CO was further north, but apparently I need to do some work in geography because it’s headed to Chicago.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!! Snow days are the besssst!
I live in Iowa and it’s SUPER snowy here. I could have gotten today off but unfortunately boss man says tomorrow is mandatory.
I think teachers love snow days a tad bit more than kids do! Hehehe
I wish I had a snow day today! No such luck. I do love days where I get to unexpectedly sleep in.
Also, I clean/workout in my pj’s all the time.
We’re supposed to get some snow overnight. I hope I get the automated phone call announcing we’re closed tomorrow in the AM.
Snow days are the best!
I had a snow day too! And I never got out of my pajamas. I took my dog for 3 walks in them!
My dad works part time for the school in my hometown in Mid-Missouri and told me tonight they’re already off for tomorrow… and I know Chicago is supposed to get hit tonight or tomorrow. It’s crazy everywhere!
You SO deserve that snow day! I was driving down I25 last night from Denver with no windshield wiper fluid left and the roads still snowy as ever…scared for my life, but I made it to the springs and now I don’t have to go anywhere!
I made tofu tonight too; my 7 roommates are excited to have a vegetarian in the house, and they gobble it up!
Watching movies and blogging away!
I think we might have a snowday on Wednesday! Cross your fingers for me! Lol
First of all, loooove your slippers- so cute!
It’s supposed to snow here tonight!! I want a snow day too please! I work for the fed govt though, so a snow day = working from home day.
Either way, if I’m in pj’s it’s a good deal to me!

No snow here right now- I’m happy for it. Traveling on the bus to work is much harder with yucky snow.
I love sitting down to a clean house too, I dont really like cleaning but once I get started, I can’t stop!
It snowed this morning on my walk to class – not enough to stick or close school though!
Glad you got a day off, sounds like it was productive and relaxing too!
Yay, snow days are the best!
My favorite snow day activity is old tv series on Netflix Instant Watch; we plowed through two seasons of The Sarah Connor Chronicles in the last two weeks.
My fav. house activity is probably yoga (if no one else is home) and
watching TV.
No snow for me but if I had a snow day I would (be nerdy and) read all day!
The PERFECT snow day. I wouldn’t have changed one thing! I miss snow days. I miss the snow. I say this even though we are expecting 5-6 inches tomorrow, but it isn’t Colorado snow. And you know what I mean, I trust that! I miss walking beneath pine trees full of it, I miss watching it come down all day, I miss snowboarding, I even miss SKIING! That is huge for me. Enjoy your 4 day week, lucky.
We don’t have any snow yet, but it’s supposed to start today or tomorrow. I’m hoping it misses us. I never get a snow day at work
oh i could use a bowl of chili right now! its pretty cold out!
We are supposed to get snow today at lunch.
I can’t wait! It’s going to be so pretty! Thankfully, my yoga studio is right across the parking lot from the office, so I don’t have to travel too far after work. Hopefully by the time it’s over, the roads will be OK.
My favorite in the house activity would be one of two things: 1. cuddle with the kitty and read a book, or 2. have a movie marathon with my boyfriend (we sometimes pick one actor/actress and watch like 4 movies in a row with them in it).
It semi-snowed yesterday. Now it’s just balls cold and the heater isn’t working here. Boo.
Your snow day looks like so much fun! I definitely would have remained in pajamas all day as well
love snow days! those are some really sassy slippers.
Oh I miss snow days!! We have a snowfall warning right now, but it keeps getting pushed back and pushed back. I wont believe it until I see it.

YAY snow days!! My school district is already closed for tomorrow due to the impending “snowstorm.” It was supposed to start two hours ago and we’re still seeing flurries…I’ll laugh if nothing actually happens!!
