Today started like all the others…alarm, workout, shower, breakfast.

Purple Smoothie: frozen blueberries, blackberries, vanilla soy milk, water, sunwarrior protein
Snack was an apple and an orange, and then we had indoor recess (it was -2* outside!!), so lunch was eaten in a hurry.

Udi’s toast with Earth Balance
I rushed out after school because I had a doctor’s appointment at 4 o’clock. I’m a little more than six months pregnant, and everything looks good! Babycakes loves to kick me, has stopped demanding grapefruits, and is about the length of an ear of corn. It’s crazy to think that she’ll be here in four months. We have a lot of work to do…like setting up a nursery.
Speaking of setting things up, I came home from work/doctor today and found this new piece of furniture in the dining room:

A bevvie station (beverage station). We have so many “bevvie” appliances, that Meek and I have been talking about getting a place to store them (beside the kitchen counter) for a while. He surprised me and got it all set up today on his break from work!
And then I went and won worst-wife award because I brought home leftover lasagna from our school lunch (which I’ve heard is actually pretty good) – and gave it to Meeker for dinner. Then I made myself a bowl of oatmeal.

½ cup oats, 1 cup water, 1 tbs. chia seeds, walnuts, cinnamon, onyx cocoa powder, granola
In the 3rd grade world…
We were looking at some black and white pictures in our reading book today, when a little girl raised her hand and asked:
Were these pictures taken before they had color?
I responded: yes, before colored photographs.
Wait, just the pictures were black and white? I thought everything was black and white.
This little girl legitimately thought that life was in black and white until the 1900s.

HAHAHA, that is hilarious. Maybe she got the wrong message from the movie Pleasantville?
Wow -2 is cold. When we have inside recesst the kids are always to wild! Is it the same for you? Not sure if you knew but I teach 3rd grade too
I just love kids at that age!
That is hilarious about the black and white comment!!! I think I may have also thought that when I was little.
haaaahahahahaha! It would be amazing if life were in black & white.
That smoothie sounds so good right now.
In this girl’s defense, my dad told me that the world used to be in black and white and that is why some shows/pictures are in b&w!! I’m pretty sure I didn’t believe him…for long! Lol!
Kids are hilarious!!!!
I nominated you as a “stylish blogger”..check it out

Is that all you eat in one day?? Thats not alot at all for anyone especially a pregnant woman!
I love little kids….they say some of the best things ever! That is too funny!
I used to think that when I was little too! No joke.
Even now days when I picture war back then and my mom in her little cottage of a house- to me its all black and white or sepia! LOL
Hilarious. One of my darlings wrote this as an answer on a test the other day:
How do you know this story is a folk tale?
I don’t. My teacher said it was.
Great stuff.
hahaha omg seriously the things kids say!!
i love the soup in a jar
Bahaha, that kid’s comment is just precious… Oh my..
LOVE the new bevvie station- what a great idea!

hahahahaha thats hilarious!! I can see why she would think that too. I mean, black and white tv, black and white movies, black and white pictures. It makes sense.
That is tooo cute, she prolly thought that people lived in a sad and color-less world!
HAHAHA oh my gosh I love it. Although those ideas tend to stick unless someone challenges them…I literally just realized what the song “I Saw Mama Kissing Santa Claus” means THIS YEAR. As in, I thought the mom really was kissing Santa cause he’s cooler than dad. Yeah, that is sad.
aAHAHAH oh my gosh that little girl is ADORABLE
Glad your appointment went well! I was 25 weeks yesterday and my little one is still demanding grapefruit. And oranges and ice cream! The comment from your student is also priceless. I think every teacher should keep a journal of the crazy things kids say and read them on the bad days to lift their spirits.
Haha…that is totally something that I would have said when I was small.
Hahahahaha, that is hilarious and adorable.
So glad the baby cakes is healthy and I love the bev station
That is hilarious that she thought that!!! It’s so funny what kids think/say!
Packed lunch soup in a mason jar and a “bevvie bar” all in one post!!! I’m trying hard to restrain my envy.
Ooh a purple smoothie! That looks yummy. I just finished a green monster. It looked so gross, but it tasted sooooo good!
hahahaha oh my gosh i am dying in a fit of laughter!!!! that is amazing.
also, i can’t believe babycakes is already so far along!
I tooootally thought that too!! One day I asked my mom what year color was invented.
I love hearing about your 3rd grade world!! Kids are too cute! Thanks so much for sharing!
ahahhahahaha. oh man. life in black and white…its like that movie. i forget the name though.
