I won’t have time to blog tonight because we have our second childbirth prep class. We won’t get home until about 9:30pm (which is at least an hour past my bedtime) – so I thought I would just show you my breakfast.

Oatmeal is making a major comeback in my life. It still doesn’t fill me up at all, but it tastes so dang good, and I eat around the clock anyway – it doesn’t seem to matter.
This morning’s bowl…
- ½ cup oats
- 1 cup water
- Pinch salt
- 1 tbs. chia seeds
- 2 egg whites (whisked in at the end)
On top…
- Raisins
- Peanuts
- Soy milk
- Pumpkin butter
- Cinnamon
- Cocoa powder
Have the happiest Thursday!!
Do you have self-imposed bedtime?
Before I was preggo, I went to bed whenever. But now, if I don’t force myself to get eight hours a night, the day is pretty much shot. That means going to bed at 8:30pm.

I try to get in bed by 10, lights out at 10:30…
I would LOVE to go to bed at 10-11pm but I struggle at that. It’s more 12-1am now which is better than 1-2am. So maybe I’m getting there…
I love oats too, it tastes good with all that stuff mixed in it. I feel really full right when I’ve eaten it but I swear, I get hungry in like an hour or 2.
I usually am in bed by 9-9:30. If not, I’m falling asleep on the couch!
I vary on bedtimes. Some nights I can’t keep my eyes open after 8:30 and other nights I won’t get to bed until midnight. Just depends on how busy I was during the day and what else still needs to get done. So weird that oatmeal doesn’t fill you up! If I make a large bowl I usually can’t finish because I get so full!
I shoot for 10pm- Otherwise look out world I am horrible!!
at 24 years old I am SUCH a grandma! I go to bed around 9 too. I like to go to sleep early and get up early!
I like to be tucked in my 9pm.
I was at book club last night – and I asked what time it was, and joking someone said 15 minutes past your bed time…I’m totally a grandma.
I used to go to bed around 10 p.m. but this whole being pregnant thing has me falling asleep on the couch by 9 p.m. I feel so old!
i am usually in bed by 10.. 9:30 sometimes! depends how late i eat!… oats dont fill you UP?? its the only brekki that does!
If the clocks says anything past 10PM, I freak out a little. I put the kids to bed at 8PM and am in bed shortly after. I’m such a grandma.
I’m in bed by 9-930 most nights. If not, I’m pooped!
I am in bed by 9 at the latest every night. I read until I fall asleep!
I think it’s so funny that oats don’t fill you up!
I start getting ready for bed around 9 and usually doze by about 10 or 10 30.
I go off and on with the bedtime thing. I definitely do better when I get in bed before 9:30 so I can fall asleep before 11. Dang insomnia. However, in the summer it usually gets pushed back since it’s light until about then and I feel more carefree.
Have fun at class tonight!
It really all depends. Last night I was in bed at 9pm, but other nights I could be in bed by 11pm. I think it depends on how busy the day was, what’s on TV that night, and if I have to work the next day.
I’m a total grandma! I’m usually in bed by 9:30 or 10 (at the absolute latest!).
I’m an 8-hour girl too and was even before getting pregnant. So if I’m not in bed by 10:30, tomorrow will not be pretty!
Oh, and I’m jealous that you’re already taking the childbirth classes. Ours aren’t until March!
You will love them! They have really put my mind at ease and made me feel much more confident about the whole process!
Tom would tell you Im lucky if I make it to 8:30…haha! thats what winter is for
and i love my sleep!
Hope your preggo class goes WONDERFUL tonight!
Good luck with childbirth class!!! Little miss babycakes will be here before you know it
I wake up at 4:30am to work out, so I go to bed between 8:30 and 9.

I get up to workout at the same time…aren’t morning workouts the best!?
I’m totally curious about the egg whites in your oatmeal. Does it change the texture at all? Or is it more for added protein?
I am totally with you on the oats leaving you hungry…but I still eat them too!
Do the egg whites make a difference for you? I have not really gotten into the habit of adding them in, but maybe I should to give my oats more staying power.
They actually do make a little bit of difference…especially if I add 2. It also makes the texture super creamy (but you have to whisk like crazy after you add them or else you’ll get scrambled eggs in your oats…yuck).

Your oats look amazing!!!!

I love oatmeal, and I hope you have fun and learn lots in your class! Only a few more months!!
You wake up at 4:30?!?!?!
Haha, yes. I’m an early bird! I like to get to the gym before anyone else is there.
I’ve come to realize that if I don’t wake up and work out before work, it isn’t going to happen. So an earlier bedtime it has to be! I’m usually in bed around 1030.
Mmmm, those are yummy looking oats. They still don’t fill me up either, unless i load them with pb which sometimes is a wee bit excessive.
Hope your class went well!

8:30 would be a dream, but since my parents are late night people, as is all of my college friends, 10-11 is the earliest I can swing. I’m definitely a morning person!
I try to be asleep by midnight (my earliest class is 9:4o)
I usually go to bed at 12 or 1 but am trying to go to bed earlier so I can wake up early!
I don’t have a specific bedtime, but I try to be in bed till 11pm. I wake up early, and I need my sleep. But I can’t sleep more than 8 hours, no way!
I definitely have to force myself to go to bed at a certain time every night so I will get my 8 hours (having 2 kiddos and working takes a lot of my energy). And when the baby is sick I make myself go to bed even earlier because I know there will be night waking again.
I workout in the morning too, so the earlier the better for me! Call me grandma if you’d like, but it’s nice to have zero obligations when I get home from work!
I couldn’t agree more!
Wow, 8:30? That would be really hard for me, way too early. I’m aiming for about 11pm this semester. =)
I go to bed way later than I want to. I just get involved in something and before you know it it’s late. New Year’s resolution is to go earlier!
My work schedule varies, but if I have to get up early I usually am in bed at 8:30. I need my full 8 hours of sleep
Have you tried adding more egg whites? I find that oats really hold me over that way.
Some people use half a cup of egg whites cooked in their oats, on the bottom of their oats, or on the side.
The extra protein would help hold you over and you still get to eat yummy oats!
