I just realized that a I used the letter T a lot today.
First, I started off this Tuesday with a tough workout. Before I left for the gym at 5:00, I prepped my breakfast.
I threw together ½ cup oats, 1 cup milk, ½ pear, ½ cup frozen blueberries, cinnamon, and vanilla stevia. It all sat for about an hour and a half in the fridge before I ate it up – so delicious.
When I got to school, I had some of Teri’s Tea

hot water, lemon, and freshly grated ginger
Lunch

Leftover risotto with artichoke, edamame, and peas
Plus some chocolate milk on my incredibly cluttered desk.

I love this stuff – I want to buy these little milk boxes by the thousands.
Later in the afternoon…

An apple – times two.
Dinner

It’s Taco Tuesday! (Every week when I’m planning the weekly meals, I ask Meeker what he wants and the only thing he’s ever requested is tacos on Tuesday.) I made a bowl with rice, celery, ground turkey, tortilla chips, salsa and guac.

The ground turkey wasn’t really striking my fancy, so I ate around it, and gave the rest to Punky. And so between the two of us, we licked the platter clean…
In the 3rd grade world…
I asked one of my students this morning why she didn’t do her homework and she replied:
I didn’t really have time to do my homework last night because I was coloring and I forgot that I had homework.
Here’s to honesty.
(Also, the girl who had #3 yesterday was absent today – I guess she was telling the truth.)

That taco bowl looks delish! I’d rather my students be honest with me then try to cover up the fact that they didn’t do something!!
I’ll have to try those chocolate soymilks. I luuurve chocolate milk.
I love adding frozen blueberries into my cereal/oatmeal – it makes everything look so pretty! (I can be such a girly-girl sometimes…)
Glad you had a great Tuesday! Have a great week!
Your breakfast concoction sounds delish, and looks pretty too!
One of my kids just started coloring in the middle of class today.
We were finishing up work, and their choices where to finish a math worksheet, read, or journal until everyone was finished.
Said student when inquired about coloring, “I just want to color. I don’t want to do any of that other stuff.”
I love Taco Tuesdays! We haven’t had one in a long time!
Haha, I love that! I sometimes wish I could say the same thing…”nope, I don’t want to do my work…I just want to color (or nap, read, etc.)”
I think I need to incorporate Taco Tuesdays at my house.
hahaha awww that is the cutest answer….at least she was honest, right??
I LOVE your food because its so colorful!! that breakfast bowl looks awesome!
I went to a school where you would get in so much trouble if you didnt do your homework even in third grade. I actually forgot to do one assignment when I was in second grade and I broke down in tears. My dad had to come in to school and take me home because I wouldnt stop crying! I wish that I would have had the strength to say that I just wanted to color the night before!
Glad to hear you had Turkey Tacors for tuesday!
In high school I had a teacher that was SUPER strict on handing in homework. I was usually really good about getting stuff in, but one time I was actually just too tired and didn’t feel like it. I told her that, and she gave me an extension. Here’s to honesty (and brown nosing 99% of the time so you can slack without consequences when you really feel like it).
I think I’m gonna steal Taco Tuesday from ya, if that’s okay. Maybe on some random day of the week but I just need to make some mexican food in general!
I ‘just’ tried chocolate silk soymilk for the first time, and LOVED it!!!!
A Teacher’s desk is always cluTTered!
I’m so happy I was one of your Ts!!!
yay! Do you like the tea? Does it help with the pregnancy nausea or are you past that stage?
Your purple breakfast is so pretty. Great idea to put it together and let it sit while at the gym!
Yes, I loved the tea! I meant to say that….but I guess I forgot. Thanks for the great idea! And FORTUNATELY, I’m past the nausea part of my pregnancy, but I still love ginger – so it can’t hurt.
Heck she’s got her priorities straight…get it girl!
ha! i forget to do things i’m supposed to do all the time because i’m too busy having fun. she’s just ahead of the curve learning to do it this young
your food looks SO good!
Aw, now I feel really bad for poor little number 3 girl! And I’m definitely going to have to make tacos now. Taco bowls would b even better!
Your breakfast is so pretty. And how cute is that girl? Way to be honest.
Awww! Too cute, I would want to color as well
ahahh def a T day.. taco Tuesday is where its AT!
Too busy coloring!! I love it!
Ha! Great response. What a clever little girl.
P.S. All your meals look amazing! Especially breakfast…so colorful : )
Yum, I could totally go for Taco Tuesday. Too bad its Wednesday now. I guess I can always pretend.
I love that reasoning for not doing her homework. Coloring is FAR more fun anyhow.
T is for Terrific! I love that purple breakfast; I’ll have to try it soon!
A local middle school teacher and I have bonded during our morning gym time. We talk about CSAP scores and such; it definitely perks up my morning!
Your risotto meal inspired my dinner tonight! I’ve been craving rice like crazy lately..
We’re getting a load of snow right now- hope you’re snow-free over in CO!
