It was a good day – the sun was out, I had a nice walk to and from school, and there were no power outages. But in the last hour, I’ve gotten so tired that I feel like cursing. And I never curse.
So, let’s get to it.
Breakfast
A peanut butter and jelly sandwich eaten at school
Lunch

veggie/bagel sandwich
Dinner

I started with this product that Rice Select sent for me to review. Then added veggies and tofu.
Unfortunately, Meeker wasn’t hungry, and I was (am) too tired to eat, so it’s still sitting on the stove. But, I’m sure it will be good tomorrow. It never hurts to have a prepared dinner on hand.
In the 3rd grade world…
My kiddos have started saying the phrase ‘purple jinx’ a lot in the last week. I haven’t asked them what it means because they’re always saying it at the most inopportune times (like when I’m trying to teach them something).
Anyone know what purple jinx means?
(I’ve also heard them whispering blue jinx to each other when they think I’m not listening.)
But I’m always listening.
I have no idea what purple or blue jinx means. But I think you dit ehe right thing in not asking them when you’re teaching. You let them get side tracked once, and they will allllways try to side track you!
So weird about the jinx. hm!
I have no idea what they could be meaning.
hmmmm.
PB&Js are AWESOME!
Haha – OF COURSE you had peanut butter and jelly for breakfast! Did you read in my post that that’s what I was craving when I woke up?? We must have been separated at birth – seriously.
That tofu looks delicious – I’ve really been craving some tofu. I’m going to have to get some this weekend and bake it up.
I’ve never heard of purple jinx – I’ll have to ask Julia (she knows about Lady GaGa, so she MUST know about “purple jinx” haha).
I’ll keep an ear and eye open during recess. Maybe we can figure out this jinx business. Besides, I love covert operations. It’s very 007. LOL!
Haha, who knows with kids. Hope you find out because I bet it’s hilarious!
I have no clue! That’s too cute! Ask the sweetestr girl in the class! She’ll tell ya
JW…you seem to eat SOO little. I know your prego and your appetite is weird it just seems odd to completely skip dinner! Idk…ahah.
I agree! I’m pregnant too and I’m practically licking the pots when making dinner, I’m so hungry (plus I eat waaay more during the day. And exercise way less). I guess everyone’s different!
I have absolutely no idea what in the world purple jinx could mean… I will have to consult the two 11 and 12 year olds I work with tomorrow. I am sure they might know, at least more than I do! Peanut butter and jelly is my go to meal, ALWAYS, and I can never eat just one. When I have one I usually crave another throughout the day at some point!
Hope you have a fantastic Wednesday!
Your dinner creation sounds awesome! I need to try baking tofu more often.
Purple jinx? Now I’m curious as to what this means.
I can only imagine it is an extension of “jinx”… when two people say the same thing at the same time someone tries to be the first to say “jinx” and it sort of turns into a game. When I was younger my brother and I would do that but try to one up the other by saying “double jinx” and it went on and on (a million jinx) so I guess your kiddos are using colors (?)
purple jinx? blue jinx? you don’t know what that is????
ok, I don’t either.
im DYING for a PB and J! or just PB in general! I could eat a whole jar right now with easeeee
No idea what purple jinx is lol
Going to have to warn my roommate about the purple jinx…
Your veggie-tofu stir fry looks awesome!
Thought of you just now..had dark choc. almond milk and a Cliff carrot cake big ole bar to naw on…yummy!
Mmm, those carrot cake bars are my favorites!
I have no idea what purple jinks or blue jinks means. Maybe it’s an inside joke or code word for something? I know some kids in my class had codes for test answers. (Example – Cough is choice A, Asking to sharpen a pencil is choice B, Tying a shoe is choice C, etc.) Of course, it took all of 3 minutes for our teacher to notice. Haha.
