I couldn’t sleep again last night, so I got up at 3am and did level one of Jillian’s 30 Day Shred. I hadn’t done this workout since my first trimester, and I forgot that it was difficult. But…it did the trick, and I was back in bed, sleeping by 4:30. I swear, exercise (and an un-photographed bowl of cheerios) is the best cure for insomnia.
When I got out of bed a little later, I had breakfast all ready to go.

It looks boring, however it was anything but. HEAB’s cookie dough smoothie – I can’t believe that raw oats, milk, and nutritional yeast can taste this much like actual cookie dough. You must try it…it’s incredible. So doughy and satisfying.
Lunch – was the same thing it’s been for what seems like months.

It’s delicious every time I eat it – toasted bagel, cream cheese with green onions, spinach
Snack

Some leftover kettle corn and a grapefruit.
And Dinner was a lime fruit bar. Poor Meeker – I promise I’ll start cooking again soon!
In the 3rd grade world…

We filled our marble jar again!

I let my class choose and vote on how they wanted to celebrate their good behavior – half the class wanted ice cream, and half the class wanted extra recess, so we meshed the two together and had 30 minutes of recess followed by some ice cream.
They were so excited – I wish I could show you the smiles on their sweet little faces.

You worked out at 3:30am…hilarious. You make me smile!
Today was an awesome day for an outdoor recess followed my ice cream. You rock.
SO jealous! I’ve wanted a SMART car ever since I visited France. Unfortunately, the U.S. doesn’t have quite the reviews of the Euro one.
Still….they’re so cute!
Whoops! Ha! Had two blogs up and commented on the wrong one. LOL
Next time I am having trouble sleeping, I am going to get up a do a work out! See if your trick works for me.
Always the best plan of action for sweets! End of the day. Do not want to deal with the sugar craziness!
What is it about bagels during pregnancy? I swear bagels never tasted so good as they did during that first and second trimester. I had to have them! Never tried exercise to cure my pregnancy insomnia – just skipped right to the cereal. Will have to remember that should there be a baby #2.
P.S. So glad you liked the cookie dough smoothie!
I used to love extra treats like that. Whenever my class gets extra recess, their faces LIGHT up!
Ah! If I had yeast I would be making that smoothie for breakfast tomorrow – I’ve been a smoothie monster lately. Must remember to buy some at the grocery store!
what a good teacher you are
.
Your a.m. workouts are awesome! Whatever helps you get back to sleep!
Haha I’m sure their parents loved you for that. Smart to give them the sugar then let them go
I bet the kids love you so much
)
I should really try that smoothie!
That cookie dough smoothie looks so amazing!
That’s awesome you worked out so late/early! I bet that’s the key to insomnia… you’re onto something!
I tried the doughy-smoothie thing this morning and I’m not convinced. I think the nutritional yeast would add a different dimension though!
The title of this post cracked me up. Happy weekend =)
I think high school teachers should take part in the marble jar concept. I’m sure everyone would behave if we were rewarded with ice cream and recess!
Seriously, I’d like it!
i remember my grade 2 teacher always bringing in a giant tub of vanilla ice cream every time we had a spelling bee.. if we got 100% we got 2 scoops and everyone else got 1. it was always good motivation to spell correctly lol.
i loved how creative the rewards are. ice cream and recess rocks- altho my fav is still the “drive in” movie!!! <3
that bagel looks delishhhh btw!
xoxo
AWWWEEEE!!!! I want to be a 3rd Grader again!!! Then I could be in your class and do all the fun stuff you guys do!
