Life.

Thank you all so much for your comments, emails, and tweets! If you couldn’t tell – we are just overjoyed with Adrienne. Life is good.

My appetite, however, hasn’t returned. I expected it to come back with a vengeance after she was born – but so far, I’ve been subsiding mostly on fruit and popsicles. Which is okay by me.

But yesterday, I had something I’d been dreaming about for months…

A turkey sandwich!

You aren’t supposed to eat deli meat while preggo – so I’d held off for the last 10 months, but when we got home from the hospital yesterday – I ate this and enjoyed every single bite. The blackberries were phenomenal, too.

A lot of you asked to hear more about my birth experience – and I promise to share more with you when I have more than a second to sit down to the computer. But for now, I have to rush off to get Adrienne to her 3 day-old doctor’s appointment. (I can’t believe I had a baby 3 days ago!)

I’ll leave you with a picture of the introduction

Punky has been so sweet with her…I think they’re going to be best friends.

  1. Ohhmygosh …. so adorable is bebe Adrienne! Love her old-fashioned name. In high school, my BFF had the same lovely name …. we always called her Addy.

Love bebe’s sweet little hat. My opinion = ALL newborns/infants should definitely wear hats to protect their precious keppies. Also, covered eyes from sun glare.

You look fantastic Katie. Saw the first photo (yesterday?) holding Adrienne (outside)wrapped up in the “heart” blankie!

Along with your new/wonderful life ….. ENJOY those turkey-sammies!!

Awww …… “Punky” is the sweetest! My Sophie & Gidget would be kissing her at every chance!

    Looking forward to future stories.

  2. A couple days after I had my daughter I couldn’t eat either. You would think breastfeeding and being able to eat anything you want would make you starving but I hated eating the week after giving birth. Almost felt sickly eating, but always sooooo thirsty!

  3. Let me tell you, I really don’t care about babies but when I read this post I said out loud ‘oh yay the baby is born!’ and my boyfriend was like, ‘what baby?!’ Hahaha! Congrats from someone who loves reading your blog :)
