The Veg

For about a month, we’ve been growing vegetables in pots on our dining room table. Yesterday (with hopes that Colorado has seen its last freeze!) – we moved them out onto the deck.

Zucchini, cucumbers, broccoli, spinach, lettuce, chives, tomatoes, carrots, eggplant

Some of them look pretty measly, but I have high hopes. Especially since my stud of a husband built a garden for us yesterday.

I can’t wait to fill this up with all of sorts of green, edible goodness. Keep your fingers crossed that (a) freezing temps have left us for good and (b) I don’t accidentally kill them all with my lack of vegetable-growing-knowledge.

Either way, I had fun watching this guy work…he has nice muscles.

  1. Oh fun! We have squash, cucumber, cantaloupe, tomatoes and green beans. My hubby is in charge of the garden this year and is quite proud of himself!

  2. Awesome! I tried to grow a bean plant in a pretty pot on my windowsill, but my cat knocked it onto my floor so now I just have a pile of dirt on my carpet. I’ve never been able to keep a plant alive anyway…

  3. One of these days I’ll have the courage to try and grow a garden. I need to start small with herbs. Last time I tried I killed them before I could use them :(

  4. If I can do….I have FULL confidence in you! BTW… going back to my strong dislike of tomatoes we planted four plants last year and I would pick like 2 grocery bags a day and take them to work and give them away :) Only two this year cause Tom INSISTED! Good luck! I love Mike’s hat :) :)

  5. Meeker you look like a natural out there in the garden. Hope everything thrives abundantly….. you have worked so hard!
