So much rain today. The good news is that everything is starting to look mighty green. But the bad news is that there is so much rain.
Breakfast

This was the only chance I got to step outside today without getting drenched…I think it was about 6:30am. Adrienne woke up bright and early today. Like 4am early. However, the cheery bowl of fresh pineapple for breakfast helped make the wee morning hour substantially more tolerable. I ate it as the little one napped on my lap.
This face makes everything more tolerable.

What a snuggle bug.
I also had some toast later in the morning.
Lunch

a heck-of-a sandwich: multigrain bread, avocado, spinach, bean sprouts, turkey muenster cheese, Dijon mustard
(Sidenote: I really like the heels of the bread. It makes a sandwich feel heartier. Anyone out there in agreement??)
Dinner

roasted sweet potato rounds with bbq sauce

This bbq sauce…which is delicious.
Dinner was on the light side, but dessert was not. As part of Foodbuzz’s Tastemaker Program, I received a coupon for free a box of free Magnum Ice Cream bars a few weeks ago. (Actually, I’m embarrassed to say it’s been almost a month.) But I did get to the store today (despite the rain!) and picked myself up a box.

Oh my word. Delicious. And at 380 calories a pop…they better be.

decadent, rich, and oh-so-chocolaty – I kind of wanted to inhale the entire box.
And as a non-food highlight to my day, I got this card in the mail today from Holly – The Healthy Everythingtarian.

Who doesn’t love getting real mail?? Thanks, Holly!

Oh man. I can barely take her cuteness!
My ovaries burn when I read your blog now! I’m going to need you to start adding stories about poopy diapers with your pictures so that I don’t start poking holes in condoms! Kidding! Sort of…
I’m a bread heel hater. Adam eats them so we save them, but if I find a bag with just the heels I consider us ‘out’ of bread.
Have to reply to this one! LOL!
I, too, consider us ‘out of bread’ when there are just heels, but Katie’s brother (my husband), tolerates them. Now I know he just secretly loves them!
I’m seeing those ice creams everywhere! If you say they’re good I believe you
And ya, I agree with you on the bread thing!
I’m a heel gal too. And crust. I love the crust of bread.
Magnums are the best! I always get them in Europe and was SO excited that we finally got them!!
Getting a card in the mail from a friend is one of life’s greatest pleasures if you ask me!
I LOVE magnum bars! I had them all of the time when I was last in Europe! I am going to have to hunt them down. Have you tried the white chocolate version yet?? The White Chocolate Version is AMAZING!
I saw the white chocolate variety at the grocery store, but passed them up. Glad to know they’re delicious!
I desperately want to find those Magnum bars. I drool a little every time I see the ad. Your daughter is adorable! Pineapple makes anything better.
Fun day. Holly is a gem. Your baby is beautiful. And yes, I’m all about bread heels. Heel lovers unite!
I’m so upset I didn’t opt in for the ice cream. I thought it was an April Fool’s joke.
I love the heels too. Especially on really crusty breads, yum.
If I could buy a bag of just bread “heels”, I would pay twice as much for it! Your kid is pretty darn cute.
Holly is so cool, isn’t she?
I really admire how you are able to post every day like this as a new mom!
Oh my word. She is just the cutest little thing!! Cuteness overload.
How cute!
And I love real mail!
Ugh – rain all the time really is the worst. We just had that in the Northeast for the past 2 weeks. But being snuggled up inside with that little nugget makes it ALLLL okay
I’m definitely with you on the multigrain bread – my favorite sandwiches are always on multigrain – toasted at that for extra heartiness.
I’m dying to try those Mangum bars. We did a huge campaign for them on InStyle.com so we were all looking to try them out after staring at the ads on our page for the week – I think I want to try to caramel one.
Hope today is a little more sunny for ya!
They made you do a campaign for them, but didn’t offer you any?! That’s cruelty.
YES! the heels of the bread are the best!!
Adrienne is so cute! Oh my goodness!!
My mom is obsessed with the heels of bread…to the point where she’ll take all of the other slices out to dig the heel from the bottom of the bag!! I like them, but usually they’re just not soft enough for my sandwiches.
I have to agree with Emily up there who says you are making her ovaries burn. MINE TOO. I think they are launching a full blown attack soon. I heard them mutter something about a flamethrower and a tank.
Those Magnum bars make me giggle like a total dork every time i hear their name. It just feels a wee bit “naughty” sounding to me.
I too am a heel lover. When i was a kid my mom would break bread and we each would get an end while it was still hot. Yum yum yum.
That would be *bake* bread.
Think i need a cup of coffee.
omgosh, I cannot get over how adorable Adrienne is. I want to snuggle her so bad!
and I’ve neveeer liked the heel of the bread. and my family always threw the heels out! maybe from here on out I’ll send them on to you.
I just recently started following, the food looks amazing. I will have to find myself some of those ice cream bars, yummm!
ah she is such a lil peanut!!! ADORABLE!!
holy damn…even the name of those pops sounds dirty
but in a good way
Heels make me feel healthier for SURE, but I also secretly love them. DEFinitely not out of bread when the heels are left.
So much rain here, too! I am afraid of a flood! I love that bowl, it looks like it is full of blueberries on the outside
I love the ends of the bread loaf, too. More crust!
The heels of the bread loaf is my absolute favorite! I love just toasting it with earth balance
yumm
Yessss. That is hands down my favorite breakfast!
clearly, i am just catching up on your blog so i am so glad you got the card! just a lil’ something to say how happy i am for you.
several other notes: sweet baby ray’s is the best. so is fresh pineapple. and magnum bars are just so ridiculously good.
