Luckily, Adrienne seems to have gotten back on her semi-schedule…which means she’s only eating every 2.5 – 3 hours. Which gave me time to get off the couch and out of the house.
We went for a nice long walk today, made a dinner menu for the week, made a trip to the grocery store, tended to the garden, and got some laundry done.
A fairly productive day in the life of a newborn and a new mama.

Somethings I didn’t get around to today – taking a shower/doing hair/getting properly dressed/wearing make-up. (Also, notice Punky smelling Adrienne’s dirty diaper – thanks for pointing that out, Punk – I promise I change that diaper at least 10 times a day)
Breakfast

the butt of a watermelon scooped out (eaten) and filled back up with raspberries and blackberries + an apple/cinnamon scone that my parents brought me from Whole Foods yesterday + a nice big cup of black coffee that my dear Meeker brought me this morning
Lunch

salad + a piece of toast with almond butter
In this salad:
- spinach
- cucumbers
- red/yellow mini peppers
- green beans
- flax meal
- crispy oven fries
- balsamic vinaigrette

Scrumptious.
Dinner

A pretty boring dinner, I know.

But when you want a bagel plus peanut butter and raspberries, you just have to go for it.
What’s your lazy dinner standby?

Despite all of the things you did not get to today.. like the shower.. makeup.. and hair, you still look phenomenal for being a newborn baby mamma!!
You look so beautiful even without your hair and makeup done! And your eats looked very yummy today
I will have to try the bagel idea soon, it looks delicious.
you look AMAZING! And your daughter is out of this world adorable!!!
I totally love the french fries in the salad! My kind of girl!
Glad you had a productive day with that bambino – and showering is overrated.
Haha, no better way to de-healthify a salad, right? Mmm, delicious fries.
Frozen pizza? I haven’t even assembled a real meal lately. That pb&j is gourmet in this household.
Love the pic of you and Adrienne btw. and Punky too!
Wow: pb with raspberries! What a dreamy combination.
Scooped out watermelon filled with berries? Ingenious!
I need to stop reading your blog because you’re making me want a baby. And I’m more than a few years away [okay, I could probably get married first too;)]from being anywhere near ready. Your family is so beautiful!! And your salad fries made me smile.

I love your hair…no shower and all…you are adorable!
You and Adrienne are gorgeous!
Your busy new mommy meals look seriously fantastic, much better that what I ate today! I was going to comment on how ingenious the watermelon bowl (as opposed to boring melon melon) was and then you put fries on a salad and blew my freaking mind.
My lazy dinner standby is nachos; I should probably work on that!
Now I can’t picture you not being a mom… weird huh?
i hope that i have a can of soup lying around!!
you look like such a young and sexy mama!!
Oh, I’m not the only one who doesn’t get a shower in, makeup…the works! Everything you ate looks absolutely yummy! I think fries with a salad is an excellent idea!
Pasta is my easy, go-to meal!
But your bagel looks delish!
Cereal is definitely my lazy dinner standby. Or a peanut butter sandwich. Easy to make, easy to eat and delicious!
All of your eats look so yummy, Katie! I’m especially loving that breakfast. Berries and scones are probably two of my favorite breakfast foods. Next time I hit up Whole Foods I’ll have to buy some scones. That apple cinnamon one looks fantastic!
Happy Wednesday!
When I’m lazy at night I OFTEN opt for toast with peanut butter and raspberry jam if i don’t have to feed my boyfriend. It hit’s the spot, tastes yummy, and takes like 2 mins. Sometimes I will switch it up and put some bananas on there instead of jam.
And I must say, despite not showering, doing your hair or make up (totally don’t blame you) you look gorgeous! No wonder you babe is so cute…look at her mommy!
Thank you, you are way too kind!
Showers are over rated.
Oh and eggs are my easy go-to meal. Usually in sandwich form.
Oh my gosh that salad! I’m drooling. I wish you and Adrienne were here with me at my sister’s house! We could have so much fun!
You have such a nice new mama glow – I love it
It must have felt so nice to be able to get some stuff done, and showering is overrated anyhow.
I love that watermelon idea. It sounds perfect right about now.
fresh raspberries on peanut butter…ummm GENIOUS! you are the queen of fruit ‘butt’ breakfasts
I love it!!!
LOVE fries on my salad! Here in Southwestern PA, we call those “Pittsburgh Salads.” Yum!!!!!
I love the new baby new mama photo! Your hair looks so cute up like that! I am making your toasted bagel with sprouts & spinach for dinner tonight. Can’t wait.
She is absolutely adorable. Congrats!! You make a wonderful mother.
And, eating a bagel for dinner is completely okay. I think I am having french toast for dinner tomorrow night.
that watermelon bowl looks out of this world.
PB + raspberry bagel? umm, that’s genius. i WILL be trying that.
[...] My hair is always in an obnoxiously messy pony tail. [...]
