Okay, schedule-less isn’t a word…but I like how it sounds.

I’m a very regimented person. Since high school (and occasionally even in elementary school) – I have been waking up before dawn, getting in a vigorous workout, then going about my almost-always-busy day, coming home, cooking/eating dinner, relaxing, and then going to bed whenever I please.

But that’s all changed. I no longer go by my schedule, and I’m surprisingly very okay with it.

It’s now all about this little nugget.

Aside from long walks, I haven’t worked out in five weeks (one more week and I can start crossfit again!).

I sometimes don’t eat my first meal of the day until noon.

My hair is always in an obnoxiously messy pony tail.

My days are scheduleless.

Aside from Baby A eating every two and a half hours, I wake up without a plan for the day. I try to walk every morning and evening, but if I can’t…I can’t. If I can squeeze laundry in, great. If I make it to the grocery store, I’m happy. And a shower is always a plus. For the first time in my life, things are always up in the air.

And I couldn’t be happier.

And this face Adrienne likes to make could not be funnier.

Today looked something like this…

Breakfast


Green monster – 1 cup milk, 1 frozen banana, 1 scoop protein powder, 1 cup water, 1 t xanthan gum

Then I went to the public library and tutored for an hour (I’ve got to keep my hand in the 3rd grade world somehow).

When I got home, my mother-in-law (whom I adore) had dropped by to see her grandbaby and bring us lunch.

After lunch, I gave Meeker a haircut. When he went back to work, I did some laundry, fed Adrienne a couple of times, puttered around the house, and prepped for dinner.

Dinner


A triple-decker veggie quesadilla.

Bottom later: sautéed carrots and onions Middle layer: smashed black beans with chili powder and salsa Top Layer: monteray jack cheese

Then I topped it all with plain greek yogurt and cilantro. This was a winner of a vegetarian dinner. (Speaking of, we’re more than halfway through our veggie month, and going strong!)

One thing that’s always on the schedule…dessert. I think I’ll have a couple of these tonight.
