Whew! Today was jam packed…I felt like I haven’t sat down all day. I’m sure I did (on multiple occasions), but it definitely feels good to be at this point of the evening…
Adrienne is in bed sleeping.
Meeker is playing Kirby’s Avalanche.
I am blogging on the couch next to him.
Breakfast

An everything bagel toasted with butter (well, Earth Balance). Bagels are so yummy.
After breakfast, Adrienne and I jogged to my friend’s house for bible study, then jogged back a couple of hours later. I stinkin’ love summertime.
What we going to do when the sidewalks are covered in ice and snow?? Eww, I don’t even want to think about that. Let’s get back to summer.
Lunch

Leftover hodge podge grilled salad – still amazing. The grilled beets are my favorite part, and Meeker doesn’t like them, so I get them alllll to myself. Winner.

On the side I had a toasted (grilled?) almond butter and honey sandwich. Made just like a grilled cheese, but with yummier things inside.
Dinner

Dinner was a tasty mishap. I tried to make Spicy Chipotle Pizza, but the crust never got crusty. So, I scooped it into some corn tortillas and called them Spicy Chipotle Tacos instead.
Full of so many good things: almonds, quinoa, kidney beans…mmm, lick.
I also worked on a special baking project this evening that I can’t wait to share with you all tomorrow. Want a hint? Agave was involved…

And now I need to go mop the floor.

Have you checked out The Great Fundraising Act?
You need to. I’m donating some homemade almond butter…
I’ve loved this summer break, I cried when I saw school supplies at Wal Mart today…true story.
Can’t wait to see what you made with the agave nectar!
I can’t wait for your Baking project!
i bet you love summer sooo much! i bet its wonderful having time off!!!!! love that you jogged to bible study- so cool!
Mmm, now I want quinoa! I know what’s for lunch tomorrow!
Summer will never end. I’m in denial of winter. Seriously contemplating moving somewhere warm at the end of the fall…
I’ll come with you.
That’s so awesome you can jog over to Bible study group! Meals look delicious. Love the description of the sandwich – like a grilled cheese…but with yummier things inside. Ha! Perfect.
I too want to cry when I think about winter… I’ve been enjoying the outdoors more this summer than any other and I have no clue what I’ll be doing with my free time during the winter… grrr… I hate the cold and Chicago gets preeeetty chilly!
That sounds like such a fun day but I know the feeling of just being excited to plop down on the couch next to Mike and just DO NOTHING. That’s what makes crazy days so fun because at the end of it, you just feel happy to sit around
I laughed SO hard at that tweet and tweeted back to you “Sounds like a successful sugar free month to me!” Hahahah. I’m still laughing about it.
I’ve never had a beet but they look amazing grilled – I’ll come over and you make me that salad k??
YAY!!! I know what recipe is coming…so excited!
Bahaha agave on your feet- love it. I’ve been there with maple syrup on more than one occassion.
Great idea about the grilled almond butter and honey sandy! Sadly I just started this Paleo eating experiment (in a nutshell), so I won’ t be enjoying one for awhile.. least not on yummy bread.
Oooh Meeker and I did Paleo for almost a year! Good luck!!
Those grilled beets look fantastic!!
One of my FAVORITE things in the world is a grilled peanut butter and banana sandwich. There is something that screams “homeeee!” about this. I consider it to be one of the greatest comfort foods. Your grilled almond butter sandwich looks delicious.
Summers are the best, right?! I just wish ours in CO were longer! Got to take advantage of every summer day possible!!!
The almond butter sammy looks delicious! I might have to try that tomorrow.
I’ve been missing Bible study over the summer – starts back up this fall. But I’ve been loving reading “A Praying Life” … great book!
I love that you are enjoying your summer so much with the fam! Pretty much had that sandwich a little while ago, except it was on china black rice bread (same people who make millet bread) and had dates instead of honey~!
Yes, summer is completely amazing. How are YOU doing??! How did the move go? Are you settling in to Seattle?
