Guess who tried a strawberry this week and liked it?


I know – strawberries aren’t even close to being in season. But they were on sale at the grocery store, so I bought two containers (for $4!). Which means Adrienne has a lot of strawberries to eat.

However, since it takes her about  twenty minutes to eat one, I thought I’d speed up the consumption rate and put a few into a smoothie.


(I honestly didn’t realize how mangled that strawberry looked until I was looking through these pictures. Eeek, not attractive.)


We also had some basil that was on it’s last leg – so I thought…why not throw that in there?


Mangled strawberries + last leg basil = sweet and refreshing drink.

Strawberry Basil Smoothie

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 4 -5 large strawberries
  • 1 c water 4-5 ice cubes
  • 3 fresh basil leaves

Blend all ingredients until smooth. Then pour into a champagne glass and enjoy. Trust me, the champagne glass is completely necessary.
