Fascinating. It’s probably (almost certainly) because she’s my child, but I tell you…I could watch this girl eat all day long. She has learned how to eat so efficiently in just a few weeks. She’s obviously some kind of genius.
Since my last BLW post…
Her latest favorite food is hummus. The Sabra kind with garlic all over it. She can take down an entire tub in a single day.
Sometimes she will eat bananas (and nothing else) for a couple of days, and then suddenly, she wants nothing to do with them.
Scrambled eggs are fun.
Blueberries pop out of a baby’s mouth really easily.
She no longer gags on food. She’s completely figured out how to chew (with only two teensy little teeth) and swallow. Like I said, genius.
Eating real food helps with teething – she’s gotten two new ones this week!
She still loves steak. And recently tried (and adored) pizza.
Also, how do people with babies not have a dog to clean up after them?
Thanks, Punky!

Love it! It cracks me up that Adrienne loves hummus (and you mentioned before kale I think) and it has to be cheaper than buying jars of baby food!
I actually don’t know how much a jar of baby food is, but I’m sure it’s cheaper! And way easier. She just eats what we eat…there is zero extra cost!
Pretty, pretty girl! Garlic hummus….she’s got garlic baby breath I’ll bet.
The worst breath!
I recently downloaded the book Baby Led Weaning because of your review. It is amazing! Our baby boy is due the end of January and we plan to follow this method. The only thing is now I am dealing with explaining it to our families… who really don’t get it.
I’m dying.
I don’t know how people do it without dogs either. Whenever I take baby boy somewhere and there’s no dog to clean up after him…
When we are somewhere without a dog, I always forget and call Punky over when Adrienne drops something. Doggie vacuum cleaners are the best!
She looks so healthy and happy (and ridiculously cute)! I love hearing about this baby-led weaning thing.
I could just eat her up! Too cute, even with banana pieces stuck on her eye.
Love the food all over her face!
I pretty much smiled through this entire post. SHE IS TOO ADORABLE!!
I get eggs in my eyes when I eat too
You guys should hang out!
Awesome! Love the dog vacuum – glad I have one! … Two!
She is just the cutest, thanks for sharing how BLW is going.
It just makes so much sense!
Will had hummus a couple of days ago too. He ended up with it all over his head, but he seemed to like it. Most of our food still ends up on the floor for the dogs to clean up, but there is some evidence of him actually eating some of it. I always do a little cheer in my head when I change those diapers
I’m with you! Who knew changing diapers could be so interesting?
Adrienne can rival my hummus eating skills, it seems.
And I’m sure Punky is a huge fan of the Baby Led Weaning.
The biggest fan!
This is the first time I’ve ever posted a reply on a blog, but I had to let you know that your baby puts a smile on my face every time you post pictures.
Congratulations and enjoy!
haha she’s too cute. Question about the BLW – do you still follow the “rules” on what you should give a kid before they’re 1, 2, etc.? I know they’re just “guidelines” but I was wondering the view on those types of things with this particular theory!
Yeah, my doctor didn’t really give me too many rules as far as why kiddos shouldn’t eat. But I’m not planning on doing peanut butter, honey, or cow’s milk until she’s one.
Im a speech language pathologist, and we also deal a lot with feeding and swallowing difficulties in kids and adults. I find this very fascinating! I definitely think its important to start early and introduce a variety of foods. especially for kids with autism. A lot of them will only eat plain things such as noodles and crackers. I really believe if kids are exposed to a variety and even have a chance to play with it, they won’t be so afraid or against trying new foods. the only thing that scares me is the steak! : )
Hah, you sound like my mom! She basically just gnaws on steak and sucks the juice (blood?) until it’s dry. She can’t really bite tough food like that, yet! We’ll see what happens when those teeth get a little bigger.
I guess I would have to read BLW- my pediatrician said not to give my son berries, eggs, other allergens until he was one. Or did they change the rules on all that since he was a baby (he’s 5)
My doctor didn’t really give me very many guidelines. I think it might vary? I don’t plan on giving her nuts, milk, or honey until she’s one because those seem to be the big ones.
What a cutie patootie! I love all the food on her face…she looks so happy and healthy.
Awww she’s so cute! I’m sure you two will love sharing good food together as she continues to grow
Also, pretty sure I want a dog now to help me clean up when babies start happening
It’s kind of necessity – I would be sweeping the floor 2x as much as I already do without the dog’s help!
Is this baby ever unhappy? I’m so in love with her. Gah! SO cute!
omg, my ovaries. she is so gorgeous!
and way to go on the hummus!
Well thank you very much!
Love the dog eating the mess out of the baby seat!
I always feel sorry for people without dog who have to bend down to actually pick up the food that felt down while preparing dinner… how annoying I never have to do that! and I don’t have to wash plastic yogurt containter before putting them on the recycling bin, my dog is always there to help out!
Haha, I am right there with you!
I agree that babies are genuises but we don’t let them be. The fifth picture down looks just like Meeker. Even still, Baby A get cuter every day!
Dogs are the best… get one before you have a kid, and it’s like training for parenthood. Then they are the best toy/cleaner/scrap eater ever!
So handy!
Misty does that with bananas too, some days he will eat 2 large ones, and then doesn’t want to know about them for a week.
Peas and raisins are Misty’s favourites, he spends AGES picking up each one individually, examining it, and finally putting it in his mouth… so funny to watch
I’m so excited for when A can pick up little things like raisins and peas!
My baby fever is outta control, so I probably shouldn’t torture myself with stuff like this, but I can’t help it:)
I can’t resist those beautiful eyes.. what a gorgeous baby and I love these photos. Won’t they be priceless when she’s all grown up:)
You are so sweet – thank you!
Ryan has been throwing around talk of a dog and I have been highly opposed (i’ve never had a dog and see it as another child i’d be taking care of during the day while trying to work, too). Seeing Punky helping you ‘clean up’ makes me almost reconsider
It is some extra work, but it’s so worth it! And I’m not even a big dog person. I also like that she (the dog) gets me out for at least one walk a day…rain or shine.
Your baby and dog sure are precious!
Man I wish I had known about BLW sooner. We are experimenting with different foods now but I get so scared thinking he may choke.
It is kind of scary, I agree, but they’re got to learn sooner or later, right?
The bit of scrambled egg on your eye is so darn cute!
I meant HER eye ha
Haha, I just figured your comment was directed at Baby A.
These pictures were hilarious!
Too much cuteness!!
her favorite food is sabra hummus!?!? why are you doing this to me katie!!! my poor uterus is aching right now. must practice self control, must not make a child.
No…I do this so you WILL make a child and then I’ll move to CA and we can feed our babies hummus together.
