Guess what?
I made a big batch of almond butter this morning.
Yesterday I found roasted almonds on sale for $3.39 a pound and then I went and spent over $10 on almonds.
Guess what? Meeker wasn’t as thrilled as I was.
Little miss tried it for the first time this morning.
Guess what? She loved it. But she loves everything. She’s never put anything (food, phones, fingers) in her mouth that didn’t agree with her.
Oh, and guess what I’ve discovered? If I put enough almond butter on a banana, I don’t hate bananas anymore. But the trick is to cover every bite in an overflowing tablespoon of almond butter. Happy Saturday to me.

I took my husband with me to the health food store last weekend to stock up on all the bulk stuff (including almost 5 lbs. of almonds for almond butter purposes) and he was floored that I somehow spent $96 on bags of stuff from bulk bins… hehe
It’s kind of silly not to take advantage of bulk bin sales, right?
How much Almond butter did your $10 make?
I kept one big jar of almonds for munching on and then 2 smaller jars of almond butter.
Sounds like a bargain to me!
It migiht help if you put a price tag on your smaller jars of almond butter so he knows how much they would cost to buy at the store

HOORAY for almond butta! Almonds are super good for you & provide hefty levels of magnesium, vitamin e, copper, & riboflavin (important for energy production)+like 20 different potent antioxidant flavonoids!
Have you tried banana soft serve? Puree a bunch of bananas w/ a tablespoon(ish) of cocoa powder and freeze overnight, top with crunchy almonds, it’s just like rocky road! Since when does lil mama eat with a spoon?That is wayy too civilized!

Whenever I make almond butter, it turns out okay but never quite as good as the store bought stuff. I cannot figure out why!
And bananas are ick by themselves. I love them in stuff, but never alone!
i’m not a big banana fan either, but agree that when they’re covered in almond butter their flavor grows on me exponentially

Loooooooooove bananas and almond butter. But guess what? I only like the SUPER ripe, all brown spotty, ultra soft ones. How TOTALLY gross am I????
Funny, I am the complete opposite! I like them a little under ripe.

Blech, yes. My whole life! Of course I like banana bread and banana soft serve…but always been a little put off by plain bananas.
