So, basically every time I tell you guys that I simply detest bananas…I guess I’m lying. I don’t mean to, but I’m pretty sure I make an amendment to that statement at least once a week on this blog.
Today is Amendment XVI.
Because the combination of maple syrup and peanut butter is tremendous and a frozen banana just happens to be a nice little vehicle for said combination. (I’m trying as hard as I can to make some connection to Arrested Development here…frozen bananas, money in the banana stand, George Michael and Maeby…I’ve got nothing.)
Nothing. Except that these are delicious and I already ate a whole banana’s worth of them this afternoon.
Frozen PB Maple Banana Bites
- 1 ripe banana
- 1/4 C creamy peanut butter
- 2 T maple syrup
- cinnamon/cocoa powder (optional)
Combine the peanut butter and maple syrup. Slice the banana and dip each pieces in the PB mixture. The cut side of the banana is sort of slippery, so you may need to use a spoon or knife to make sure the whole banana piece is covered. Then sprinkle with cinnamon and cocoa powder.
Stick a toothpick in each piece and freeze for at least an hour.
Enjoy!

These are so cute – they’d be perfect if the weather in Pittsburgh would get out of the 30s!
“Theres always money in the banana stand.”
i dare you to dip them in chocolate next time!
Yum. I’ve done the frozen pb banana but I’d never thought to add maple to the mix. Now I just need it to stop snowing in Buffalo so I can enjoy something frozen!
‘He’s a flamer.’
These look like the perfect little treat!
Wow! That looks very nice and also incredibly sweet, right?
Thanks for giving me an idea to make in an extremely sweet craving day
Yeah, they’re not overly sweet, though. More peanut buttery than sugary.
Ah as soon as I saw this post title I thought of arrested development aka one of the funniest shows created!…Hey brotherrr
Hahaha – I’m with you friend. I will, without hesitation, say that I hate bananas in one breath and then eat an entire loaf of banana bread in the next.
Also – I’m glad you made the Arrested Development connection because if you didn’t I was going to have to!
best show ever!!
i’m the same way with bananas…totally don’t like them and yet i find myself eating them all the time. sure, it’s with smoothies that mask the flavor and breads baked with butter and sugar, but whatever. still counts!
this post made me say “oh boy oh boy oh boy!” aloud — eek! these remind me of the Canadian maple farms where the pour pure syrup onto beds of fresh snow for patrons to roll up onto popsicle sticks and eat straight, basically, from the sweet maple nectar trees
Looks great! I’m always wary when using bananas since I know my mom HATES them. So they’re just an optional addition in the chocolate protein pudding snack/dessert recipe I just posted on my blog.
It’s tough when they’re just the best thing to use in so many recipes!
These look really tasty and we love, love, love Arrested Development in this house. I believe they’re making a movie!
I heard that! Makes me so dang excited…I hope they doing mess it up!
what a perfect bite-sized treat. i happen to love bananas, so i’m totally on board with this.
What an easy little treat! I love a PB/maple combo!
THis is a winning combination for sure!
This looks awesome AND easy, I’m sold!! Great simple snack recipe.
Yeah, maybe 5 minutes of actual work. Maybe.
Love, love, love this idea! I know what I will be doing when I get home today!
Well crap, I just so happen to have all of these ingredients at home right now. I guess that means that I am legally bound to make them tonight. Darn you.
Legally bound. Sorry…nothing I can do about that.
THOSE are freaking. cute. as. all. heck.
I always say I don’t like bananas but ive realized I just don’t like them plain. I would never in s million years just go into the kitchen and eat a plain banana. Ick.
Ohh… love these for a summertime snack!
What a great snack idea!
these look so simply delish!
Just came across your blog from the wonder Lindsay’s List! I’m so glad I did, if not for this recipe alone! ha Not much more food I love more in this world than bananas and pb! I am so excited to try this out! And I cannot wait to read more from you!
