So I took on this new volunteer role in a mom’s group I’m in at my church.
I basically sit at the same table every week and facilitate conversation while drinking coffee with a handful of other mamas who also sit at the same table every week.
Did you hear that? My JOB is to make friends, drink coffee, and talk about how much I love my baby and my husband and food and housewifery.
It’s like this blog in real life.
Oh, and I sometimes get to give little gifts (I can almost guarantee that they will all be food) and I just might get to bring families dinner when they are sick or have a brand newborn baby and they can’t think straight (translation: I get to barge into your house right after you have a baby so I can snuggle that sweet little thing)
This is my first little gift to my table.
It’s a glorified trail mix and I’m sure most mamas ended up giving it to their kiddos, but if it kept someone happy, my job is done.
It’s also the maximum effort I can expend over getting excited for fall.
(worth mentioning that I made a significant dent in snack mix bowl while I was putting together these little jars. I actually had to make more.)
I like this new job. I like it a lot.
Fall Snack Mix
- Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies (Adrienne calls these nee-nees, it’s funny and cute)
- Pretzels
- Butter Toffee Peanuts
- Salted Peanuts
- Reece’s Pieces
- Candy Corn

You are so creative! Sounds like this group is a lot of fun.
I love those colours! Fall colours are definitely my favourite!
Ive got an 8 hr drive ahead of me today, wishing I could munch on this! So yummy!
Looks yummy to me! And I would love if my job could be drinking coffee and making friends!
This looks great! Where did you find the adorable little jars, if you don’t mind sharing?
Hobby Lobby. They were $1.99 each.
How fun! Sounds like the perfect job to me.
And this trail mix looks incredibly addicting. I wouldn’t be able to keep me hands out of the bowl!
I want to stick my face in that bowl and just eat. Eat. Eat. Eat.
We love nee nee’s at our house too:) And can I just say I LOVE people who are content. Like you. Like me. A friend gave me that compliment the other day saying “You seem just so content. You love being at home with your family, cooking, baking and being a homebody.”
Now I know some people wouldn’t take that as a compliment but I did. And I have a feeling you would too!
Absolutely! It’s such a blessing to be content with what I get to do everyday!
Candy corn and peanuts is literally crack. So, so good. It’s such a great idea to throw in the other things. This is on my must make list
Holy frick that looks good! But I’m crazy cakes so I couldn’t touch those candy corns until October
if i had this snack mix in my house i’d be making a significant dent in it too!
Couldn’t think of a better person for that “job” !!!
That trail mix looks delish
The CUTEST little gifts I’ve ever seen! What a snack mix too. Even though people hate, I am so in love with candy corns.
Love! And the salty sweet… ahh! I wish I had all these ingredients at home to pack for my work lunches. Must get to the store! Love this Katie!
Uhhh, butter toffee peanuts?! Say what? This sounds like such a perfect sweet-salty snack mix! Also, I love the orange ribbon and all the fall colors in there – who’da thunk it? (I’m a fellow summer lover like you
)
Congrats on the fun new volunteer role!
Very cute present
Love all of the flavors in this mix! A perfect fall gift!
This looks really good. My kids would love it!
You think the other mom’s brought those directly to their kids? I’d be willing to bet that half of them didn’t even make it the whole car ride home.
They just opened up a Hobby Lobby in Sacramento…I’m in love. My wallet is not.
This snack/trail mix looks awesome!
Can I just say that you are the perfect person for that role?!?!
oh candy corn. we have a love affair. it’s hot.
i so wish i loved candy corn – it’s so deceptively pretty!
Thanks you for a Halloween Goodie Bag Idea for my students! Although I will have ot make it completely nut free.. but I’ve got some ideas brewing!
I freakin’ love fall snack mixes! I think you understand since you too were a teacher. There is something so divine about mixing candy corn, chocolate, and peanuts together. It makes any fall festivity more enjoyable:) I never thought about adding cheddar crackers, but will have to give it go.
I LOVE candy corn and am trying — so hard — to wait until October to buy my first bag… because once I start, I just can’t stop.
I’ve been looking for a trail mix for a friend that is going on a road trip & this is perfect! I bought all the ingredients at Wal-mart tonight, but I couldnt find the butter toffee peanuts. I live in a pretty small town without many options for grocery shopping… Where did you get your butter toffee peanuts?
Thanks!
That sounds magnificent.. Can I have that job too? And that snack mix?
SO many of my favorite things! And candy corn?! Oh man – SO many people I know hate this candy but it’s one of my favorites! …I think I could help you make a major dent in that mix, especially over coffee (love candy corn with a cup of black coffee).
Wonderful new role at the church – I could see you being so great in that job encouraging other women and being intentional with them and their kids. So neat.
So say I smuggle this into my Sunday School class (you read that right…). Do I have to share with the kids or can I just sneak handfuls from my purse?
Only if I can sneak into your Sunday School class. I really want to see you in action.
Annie’s bunnies (in either savory or sweet cracker form) are the best! And it goes against everything I stand for… but man, I love candy corn. What a great combo this mix is!
This looks fantastic! I love a good trail mix and this just gives me a whole bunch of new ideas!

I love this!!! I would happily gobble this up. In fact, if I had a kid I would probably steal it from them. And I love the little containers!
Talk about crack in a jar!! This sounds amazing! I am a sucker for mixing candy corn with salted pistachio nuts. It is so good. That sweet n salty combo gets me every time!
