Dip has become a huge thing at our house as of late.
Adrienne has decided that dip (whatever is available) is her favorite food. Hummus, ketchup, salsa, salad dressing, barbecue sauce…all fair game.
In fact, when dip is around, all other foods (and fingers) become merely vehicles. I spent 80% of superbowl sunday chasing her around my sister-in-law’s house trying to teach her that DOUBLE-DIPPING isn’t something we do.
(At least not outside of our own kitchen.)
SO. I thought, why not make the dip into a meal?
And it worked beautifully.
Dip for dinner.
Creamy Spinach Dip
PRINT Recipe
- 1/2 C soft tofu
- 2 T almond milk
- 1 T brown sugar (or honey)
- 1 C frozen spinach, thawed and drained
- juice of one lemon
- 1/4 t garlic salt
- 1/4 t celery salt
- pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients in a food processor of blender. Blend on high until it is all mixed evenly.

Yum! Looks like Adrienne really loved it!
I love it! I’m going to be trying this, because I too think dips are all the rage.
Ha, ha! That is the face of a little girl who truly enjoyed her dip!
baby’s smart – dip is amazing!!!
Oh my gosh, that last picture!!! I tried making spinach dip with hummus once but that was not a good situation.
Haha, love that picture of Adrienne.
The last photo says it all!
I want dip for dinner. And I’m definitely eating it with my hands.
this sound delicious and I love that last picture!
Love that second picture! And the last one of course
And I love this idea! I definitely need to remember it. Dips are something I don’t do nearly often enough and I really should since they’re so portable!
When my nephew was younger all he ever wanted was “dip-it”. He would eat anything you put on his plate as long as he had “dip-it” too. “Dip-it” could be anything; salsa, ranch, bbq….. He even got some cheese dip in his stocking that year from Santa.
Love the picture of your daughter!!
Hahahaha, that face. That’s what I look like too! Not really.
Okay 100%.
I actually really like using silken tofu for stuff like this, although I never thought to use it in dip! GENIUS.
Oh my goodness! Her hair is getting SO LONG!!
pictures of adrienne make me want kids like… right now. she’s so adorable!
Oh. my. gosh. That picture of A. I do not have words.
HAHAHA. The last picture actually made me laugh out loud!
Seems that Adrienne and I have a thing or two in common, with our love of dips…and double dipping…and always having food on our face (wish I was kidding about that one)
Oh girl she looks like you in that picture! Beautiful eyes like her mama. Her hair is just like my little girls when she was a wee one. Although I think mine was a baldy a little longer haha.
Now that I’m going vegan I really need substitutes for my favorite foods – spinach and artichoke dip is one of them. I’ll have to try this soon!
3 cheers for dairy free dip!!!
and seriously, that girl of yours…… I WANT TO SQUEEZE HER!
xo
Yay for healthy and delicious dips! And Adrienne, too
I was wondering if you served the dip hot or cold?
cold!
My little guy is obsessed with dipping too! I’ll have to try this – looks like something he’d love to double, triple, quadruple dip!
Dip for dinner sounds amazing! Love this recipe! And it looks like Baby A loved it too!
You won be over with dairy free… then Baby A stole my heart with her sweet face!
You have been on my heart today! <3
This looks amazing – a spinach dip that I can make as-is! Looks delicious! Miss you – it’s been way too long if we seen each other.
THese are great photos!
Dairy free? Music to my ears. And ooooooh, that little face!
My boyfriend’s 3-year-old niece went through a dip-all-the-things phase a few months ago. At Thanksgiving, I had to hide green bean casserole in cranberry sauce to get her to eat it. And at Christmas her veggies had to go in ranch before she ate them (which might be why we get along so well).
And that last photo… adorable!
Your baby girl is just too cute!! And I love your triangle shaped bowl!
hahaha omg that picture!!! i love the idea of using tofu as the base of a dip! wonderful
Ohmygoodness! She’s so darn cute! You have the best pictures.
I can’t get Tyler to eat any dip. Not even ketchup. He’s a butter guy, that’s it. Ha!
lol that face:) too funny
What does it taste like? I’m trying a gluten-dairy-free diet right now and haven’t ventured out to try the alternative dairy foods other than almond milk. I’ve been told that the silk “sour cream” is pretty good. Thoughts?
The tofu taste is VERY subtle. I don’t really like tofu, and I liked this dip a lot. You can taste it a little, but mostly it tastes like a sour cream dip with spinach. Let me know what you think if you try it!
That’s great to hear. I will definitely try it then! Thanks!
Smart little lady, I just hope the ketchup is Heinz!
