This smoothie has purple cabbage in it. I didn’t want to add that to the title though, in case it threw you off. But you really can’t taste it. Maybe a little tiny tangy taste, but not off putting at all.
Here’s the thing. I have trouble NOT putting vegetables in smoothies.
Usually I stick with spinach. It’s so easy just to throw handfuls in there and feel good about yourself.
But sometimes I don’t want a green (er, usually brown) smoothie. But it seems like a waste to not add in something really good for me. Smoothies are my go-to for a lot of situations. When I’ve just mowed the lawn, when I don’t know what to make for lunch, when I refuse to turn the air conditioning on – I won’t touch it before the house hits 82 degrees – or when I’ve eaten too much candy.
(ahem, speaking of candy, I made these brownies TWICE this weekend. I gave most of them away, but not all of them. Oh also, it seems I can eat chocolate again if it’s tiny little mouse bite portions.)
Okay, so purple smoothies! Add purple cabbage! And a bunch of other things that are good for you and just throw it back. Or sip it down. Or stick your finger in it and lick the smoothie off. Whatever your style.
