This beautiful little goofball.
She turned three and a half this week, and I thought…you know, why not celebrate? If making a batch of cookies (from this cookbook, ps. they are AMAZING) can make her exorbitantly happy for the whole day, let’s just do it. How often in life do you get the chance to blow someone’s mind just by making cookies and covering them in sprinkles? Not enough, that’s for sure.
She has grown up so much in these last six months. It’s incredible. She’s losing all her baby fat (waaaaah) but she still sucks her thumb (I love it and I tell her I love it. She only does it at bedtime and in the car, and I honestly don’t care if she ever stops…I’m sure she’ll start caring here pretty soon).
She is as precocious as they come. She talks like a sixteen year old, and loves to make eyes at herself in the mirror. She loves Taylor Swift, Shake it Off (but honestly, who doesn’t love that song right now?), and says when she grows up she wants to be a carpenter (like Jesus…hah!) or help people use computers (that’s what her daddy does), and her current favorite book is The Tale of Samuel Whiskers by Beatrix Potter. She likes the part where the cat is rolled into a dumpling, which is funny because that was my very favorite part of my very favorite story when I was little.
She is also the sweetest sister you’ve ever met. If you ask her what her favorite part of being a sister is, she’ll either answer (1) throwing away diapers or (2) making my brother laugh. She is a pro at both. Actually, she’s a pro at making everyone laugh. The things that come out of that little mouth…her brain astounds me and I can’t even believe I get to be her mama.
(also, remember when she was one and a half…WHAT?!)
