Okay, well, see now, I have a new predicament. YOU ALL ARE SO NICE! Thank you so much for all your kind and encouraging comments on my last post. Seriously, now the thought of leaving this blog behind (whenever that may be) seems impossible! The thing is, when I sit down to write a post, I never imagine all the people on the other side of the computer who will be reading it. I either write it for myself to remember (in the case of my kid posts or recipes I want to remember) or I write like I’m having a conversation with an invisible friend or my mom or something. I really don’t think about who will read or relate to or feel encouraged by my words. So the comments saying that you guys love this space…well, it means a lot. A lot a lot. So thank you.
Okay, ahem. On to this sunrise.
I love it when I walk downstairs and can immediately tell that the sunrise is going to be grand, as was the case when I took these pictures (Sunday morning). I am equal parts amazed and grateful that I have this view from my kitchen window every morning. Just wow. Those colors. The uniqueness of each cloud, each shadow. I mean. There are no words. If that beauty doesn’t point to the existence of a Creator, I don’t know what would. When I think about it, there is no evolutionary reason for that kind of beauty in nature. What would be the point of that gorgeousness aside from the idea that we have God who wants to show us He loves us? Maybe you think that’s a stretch. Maybe you think it just happens that way, but I can’t quite wrap my head around the idea that those colors are by accident. Think what ya will, but I think that (or any) kind of beauty in nature means there’s Someone up there who loves us.
(and did I already tell you that I love you for reading and reaching out and being so kind?…because I really do. Aaaand, I just bought tickets for The Blend Retreat – remember that retreat that I co-founded a couple of years ago? – and I’m so excited. It’s in Boulder this year, so if you’re in the area…or even if you’re not, you should come and I can give you a hug in person!)
